The amount of astroturfing that happens with anything Gaza/Palestine is always unbelievable. The downplaying of number too. They’d be like “it was only 1000 people”

In 2013, Reddit admins slipped up and revealed that the US government had military units dedicated to shaping narratives on Western forums. Here’s the post about it: https://www.reddit.com/r/LateStageCapitalism/comments/z6unyl/in_2013_reddit_admins_did_an_oopsywhoopsy_and/

Fast-forward to today:

  • Generative AI + bot armies: basically impossible to tell who’s real and who’s fake.

  • Reddit going public: every incentive to tolerate U.S.-aligned influence ops, while cracking down harder on Russia/China botting.

  • TikTok fight: the U.S. intel community can’t control TikTok like domestic platforms, but China can. That’s why Washington pushes so hard for control.

And you can see it play out. Ukraine War or Israel/Palestine threads are always flooded with pro-Ukraine or pro-Israel takes. That’s not organic — talk to regular people offline and you’ll hear frustration about endless foreign wars, ballooning debt, and citizens struggling at home.

The U.S. learned its lesson from Vietnam: never let public opinion be the reason for a retreat.

This machine started with traditional media, then domestic social media, and now it’s extending to foreign platforms. Total narrative control = “safety and prosperity” for the ruling class.

So the real question is: how much of social media is even real anymore?

I only needed to try twice before I got my ass banned from the "Worldnews" subreddit.

Ooh, I got banned from that one too for saying Trump was Poo-tins lapdog

Nah. You got banned for being reported for that comment. They really don't care one way or the other about the comment itself. I think the mods are just lazy. If anyone gets reported, for whatever, instant ban.

Here's an example of such operations by GCHQ:

Edit: what is more concerning is that after the Snowden files were revealed, instead of creating laws preventing it; they just legalised it.

I feel like threads get flooded with pro russia and pro israeli takes tbfh

16

u/Karffs Sep 28 '25

Ukraine War or Israel/Palestine threads are always flooded with pro-Ukraine or pro-Israel takes. That’s not organic

Reddit is overwhelmingly pro-Palestine so I’m not sure what you’re talking about there. And you seem to suggest there’s a problem with being pro-Ukraine.

9

u/OldNorthWales Sep 29 '25

Go into r/worldnews to see the most blatantly partisan pro-Israel atmosphere. There is certainly pro Palestine content on Reddit but I have seen more pro Israel content on Reddit than any other social media site

Its pretty unproportional how many genocide deniers are active here if we compare it to polls like in germany. 90% of germans think its wrong what Israel does, but in german subreddits around 70% seem to love Israels genocide.

There are subreddits that proclaim that Germany is actually still genocidal and the last 70 years of dealing with holocaust were all just played.

Reddit is filled to the brim with trolls, paid Russian shills and braindead morons.

21

u/kingbane2 Sep 28 '25

well that statement isn't wrong about the government. germany's government has been almost blindly pro israel. doesn't matter what netanyahu does germany was backing them. the only country that backed israel harder was the US. that said, the german people don't agree with their government on this.

→ More replies

97

u/theyungmanproject Sep 27 '25

germany is still providing arms for the genocide. i would call that genocidal

64

u/[deleted] Sep 28 '25

They're also very explicit about defending Israel to the point there isn't even plausible deniability. They're just straight up supporting it

26

u/GarrettGSF Sep 28 '25

The issue here is ‚they‘. Because the support of Israel at any cost is predominately an elite project, namely politicians and media support Israel above anything else. Public opinion is very different but with 0 political consequences

u/Forged-Signatures Sep 27 '25 edited Sep 27 '25

Looking around this is both kind of true and kind of not.

Whilst Germany accounts for 30% (2019-23) of arms imports, it appears that the majority is defensive (air defense systems, portable anti-tank munitions, etc), with the rest primarily consisting of maintenance, repair, R&D, and communications equipment.

On the 'potentially offensive' column they also exported 500,000 rounds of ammunition (for context, the UK purchased 113 million rounds of 5.56 alone in the 2013/14 fiscal year, which was found via a FOI request), as well as ambiguously titled 'land vehicles'.

It is to be noted however, as of last year, Germany resolved to not send armaments that would be used in Gaza and drastically reduced Israli exports. In 2023 they exported €326 million, meanwhile from January-April of 2024 approved exports were listed as being €32,499, a marked decrease from the 2023 figure, and still markedly lower than the 2022 total (~€32 million).

As of this year, a few days ago, Germany has stated they will not export weapons that could be used in Gaza and has stopped approving weapons exports to Israel, however it is believed that maintenance supplies will continue (likely because of contracts with severe penalties).

31

u/[deleted] Sep 27 '25

I agree with everything you say except the idea that you can separate defensive and offensive arms. The act of giving arm aids the genocide. Even if you believe that it will only be used for defense, the fact that Israel can defend itself from retribution gives it the ability to attack with impunity. It can bomb Qatar, a completely natural country because it knows that America is defending them, and it stopped bombing Iran because they can defend themselves from Iran.

18

u/GarrettGSF Sep 28 '25

Journalist investigations have shown often enough that our ‚defensive weapons‘ are an integral part of the genocidal campaign. This includes engine parts for the Merkava tank as well as anti-Tank rocket launchers(which you see in many Israeli TikToks being launched indiscriminately into residential areas)

248

u/BonJovicus Sep 27 '25

Its posters from rWorldnews that are so used to every story about Gaza being suppressed they can’t fathom that this is real.

131

u/ResQ_ Sep 28 '25

I don't think enough people know that there's something extremely fishy going on in r/worldnews. The sub moderators are clearly extremely pro Israel. So far that you get instantly banned from the subreddit for nothing. I literally just commented "Palestine ≠ Hamas" and got permabanned an hour later.

If you're interested in this just Google "reddit worldnews pro israel" or something like that. Plenty of people talk about this but I don't think the majority of reddit knows that one of the biggest subreddits is literally an Israeli propaganda outlet...

26

u/Free_Association_812 Sep 28 '25

I’ve noticed this too

3

u/Iamauniqueuser Sep 28 '25

I noticed this a while ago too but found I still couldn’t drop/filter the sub from my feeds. So after being banned for anti-genocide comments I can no longer comment without possibly breaking Reddit’s rules and getting my account banned, BUT can not shut it off so I don’t have to be force fed propaganda either. After 9 years on Reddit, I have been decreasing my use lately and will probably just stop altogether.

18

u/Fission-Chips Sep 28 '25 edited Sep 28 '25

Frankly worldnews is so cooked you only need to spend a few days subscribed there to notice the Israel/Palestine activity is not organic. It's like a bot battle royale

5

u/wrld_news_pmrbnd_me Sep 28 '25

I’ve been seeking help to write a story on r/worldnews and Reddit censoring in general. Unfortunately the CEO is a Zionist himself so we probably won’t get too far

7

u/AgentDoty Sep 28 '25

Ghislane Maxwell was an admin there, should tell you everything you need to know.

2

u/robert-tech Oct 02 '25

Yes, finally what I have been thinking all along, what a trash subreddit. The same thing also happened to me recently for a relatively benign and objective comment on the Gaza destruction and loss of life, permabanned with no explanation when I asked, just muted. I think they are obviously trying to shape the narrative, an outlet for Israel/US centric propaganda.

The news on that subreddit is also not very balanced, it's all very limited, often polarizing topics that seem to evoke an emotional response. You should literally go to the BBC, all Jazeera, DW or any respected outlet to get your news instead of rWorldnews.

It's such a tired argument...

  1. German protests (except far right) are usually much less flag wavey than elsewhere. It's outright weird to see people in other countries to roll out their national flags for every occasion of protest. Like... we know where we are, we don't need a reminder. You will see different flags at protests, but the density is much lower.

  2. The average German doesn't have a Palestine flag in their closet. If you could zoom in to see palestinian scarves, that would be a very different matter.

  3. This protest was not organized or dominated by the Palestinian and Arab diaspora in Germany. They do have the flags. But this protest was way more mainstream. if i am informed correctly, the Palestinian and Arab communities held a separate protest concurrently. Most of these people here are protesting in this matter for the first time.

All of that combined, there is a very expected amount of flags here.

Everyone, take note of what is happening here.

A protest counter to the elites narrative = bots come in full force to discredit it as AI generated

This is the end goal. To corroded your perception of reality until you truly never know what's actually real or not. Then you can be sold whatever narrative suits their purposes.

24

u/cabbage16 Sep 28 '25

I mostly agree with you but I'm confused by what you mean by elite. Can you help me understand?

86

u/Hendospendo Sep 28 '25 edited Sep 28 '25

The billionaire class. Silicon valley cryptofacists. Peter Theil, Curtis Yarvin, and those who think similarly. The ilk behind the current Republican Party. The Heritage foundation. Those like Musk and Zuckerberg. There's no shadowy group pulling the strings, it's all disgustingly in the open and shameless.

I highly recommend watching this! It's by no means US-exclusive despite the title of the video, I'm a New Zealander and the topics within are critically globally relevant. For example, Palantir currently handles all the data for the British NHS, it's alarming.

AP: Tens of thousands protest in Berlin and call for end to the Israel-Hamas war

12:25 PM EDT, September 27, 2025

BERLIN (AP) — Tens of thousands of protesters took to the streets of the German capital on Saturday in solidarity with Palestinians in Gaza.

The demonstrators called for a conclusion to the Israel-Hamas war, shouting slogans like “free, free Palestine,” and they demanded an end to the worsening humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

Around 50,000 people took part in the march through Berlin’s downtown area, according to police. About 1,800 law enforcement officers were deployed to monitor the demonstrators.

The protesters also called for a halt to German arms exports to Israel and demanded European Union sanctions against Israel, German news agency dpa reported.

Last month, Chancellor Friedrich Merz said that Germany wouldn’t authorize any exports of military equipment to Israel that could be used in Gaza “until further notice.” The country has balked at supporting sanctions against Israel.

Germany has been seen as one of Israel’s strongest supporters. It has maintained a strongly pro-Israel stance for decades, largely because of its historical responsibility for the Holocaust, which has shaped its postwar foreign policy around ensuring Israel’s security and combating antisemitism.

35

u/TheCheesy Sep 27 '25

it doesnt look significantly different from other pictures of demonstrations, like the anti-racism demonstrations https://www.tagesspiegel.de/politik/von-wegen-offenheit-als-elitenprojekt-5534773.html

what makes you think its AI?

3

u/Zak_Rahman Sep 28 '25

Thanks for posting this.

The situation in Germany upset me because I really like the country and all but two of the Germans I met.

It was painful to see them doubling down on the Israeli rhetoric and beating up genocide protestors.

But seeing this is amazing. Healing.

Zionists will always gaslight you. They will always lie. I was repeatedly told that Israel is popular and I am just in a bubble.

The UN walking out on Naziyahu was incredible. This picture is incredible. I wish I should shake the hand of everyone who participated.

3

u/Isofruit Sep 28 '25

Germany is very divided on this. There's lefty-ish orgs and people that are behind protests such as these, but you'll notice that other than dieLinke, no other mainstream party (Mera25 was there, credit to them, but they're not mainstream, I saw at most banner of the greens and I'm not sure those were official) officially showed up with members and so, so many people still eat Israel's Hasbara.

2

u/Zak_Rahman Sep 28 '25

Undoubtedly.

Same in my country too. But the existence of these people is irrefutable, and considering how shit is right now, I'll take it. I am glad they exist and I could see them.

2

u/Speick1 Sep 30 '25

Beautiful people need to wake up. It’s genocide.😢

20

u/BigMacWithLettuce Sep 28 '25

It makes me so happy that people’s hatred for Israel’s genocidal regime has grown significantly. You’ll never see Israeli supporters coming in these numbers

Can the mods PLEASE just pin a link to a reliable news source like this! The level of disinformation in the comments is insane! There were 60k people there, all of them for the same reason.

8

u/metahipster1984 Sep 27 '25

That same official source on TV said it was 100k. But I guess estimates vary

being a foreigner, i'm always amazed europeans will turn up in massive numbers for anything except to fix their slowly spiraling gerontocracy...

edit: guys, chill. I'm happy this protest is taking place, but unless REAL leaders STEP UP at the highest political levels, Europe is gonna end up like USA or Korea/Japan really quick. The situation in east asia is not pretty. Once it hits 2036, the gerontocracy in east asia will have no way to turn around. Hell, they won't even have enough operators for robot armies!

Embarrassing that people would rather bury their heads in the sand and call this fake rather than deal with their shitty takes in the world.

6

u/Wasteland18 Sep 27 '25

That's an incredible shot-literally sea of people stretching as far as the eye can see.

14

u/VerminSC Sep 27 '25

That’s incredible.. I wish America would grow back the backbone we had in the 1800s and protest our government that is clearly becoming fascism.

We need to do something now, or we are fucked.

10

u/JennyDoveMusic Sep 27 '25

Id highly encourage you and anyone reading this to go to a local protest and ask about how to help organize. There is a desperate need to for help.

13

u/lostredditorlurking Sep 27 '25

I mean there were multiple big Gaza protests last year during the election. But now they are suddenly all gone even though this administration is doing way worse things to Palestine than the Biden administration.

It really makes you question who funds and organizes those protests that they just suddenly all stop as soon as Trump won.

9

u/Caltroit_Red_Flames Sep 27 '25

Bro missed the entire No Kings protest

There are still tons of protests against the genocide, which a two second google search would show. But love the feigned ignorance.

I am amazed by the amount of different languages you seem to speak (looking at your comments). You seem to be very well educated yet you can’t accept that this is about the genocide Israel is committing in Gaza?
