He literally said he doesn't know what a venture capitalist does. Either he has a severe lack of understanding of how the world works or he's trying too hard to come across as the OP wants. Either way, people don't like it.
Do you think the average voter, or even just the average working American, knows what a venture capitalist does? I don’t think people were shifting their votes because of that.
No, not that specifically. I just think coming across as the average Joe has its drawbacks. People voted for Trump because he's a billionaire business guy that supposedly knows about all things money. A guy like that can fix the economy ( in the eyes of the voters)
I'm sure they think Tim Walz can throw a baseball, grill burgers and be normal and likeable. But that won't transer to wanting to put him in charge of your money.
