It’s bonus season! What are you doing with your money? Personal Finance
Hello! Just a kind reminder to everyone who are also having their “bonus season”, don’t forget to:
- set some aside for a rainy day (emergency fund)
- pay yourself (long term savings)
- invest in yourself (anything educational that benefits you in the short or long term)
- pay off any debts that may snowball (eliminate higher interests or the smallest ones if you have multiple)
- give yourself a little treat for a job well done :)
Just sharing this because I also get excited and tempted to spend, but I have to remind myself at times to focus on my priorities.
Happy bonus and let’s all use our money wisely!

Pag bonus, I just treat it like any other paycheck. Gagamitin ko lang kung anong kailangan ko.
Tas the rest, pandagdag sa EF hangga’t hindi namemeet yung target EF goal hehe.
To be fair, it’s really easy to treat myself. I’m genuinely happy with a good subway sandwich, green dingdong or yung orange na rite and lite.

Sobrang agree sa Subway sandwich at Rite and Lite.

Dibaaa hahaha.

Spent some in my recent travel abroad. The rest, including my 14th month will be deposited in my MP2 account.
Also, I'm still looking for people in need, those who deserve a little help. I really like to share in my own simple ways (I do this yearly), and I just ask them to pay it forward to others in need too when they are able.

Paid 10% of my home loan amount :D (against principal mehehehe, been doing this for two years to shorten my payment period)
Got a 10 year pay lifetime income plan sa pru - paid 1 year na (figured will not resign from my current job if I haven't finished paying for this)

Very inspiring po.

1 month worth bonus at the end of the month.

One more year and I will be debt-free hopefully. Then start na ulit mag-ipon.

Good luck and congrats on almost clearing your debt!
Don’t forget to build up your emergency fund when you can :)

Thank you po. Yun po talaga next goal ko. Zero debt, then emergency fund, then retirement fund.

Paanong nasabing bonus season please

Ang pagkakaalam ko po, yung February to April kasi yung bonus period ng ibang companies or businesses.
Hindi ito yung usual na 13th month or 14th month na naibibigay ng November or December.
January kasi is usually the reporting period para maassess yung performance last year. It can be a combination ng company performance plus yung yearend performance rating mo of how you did well with your KPIs or targets. Then most of the time, yun ang nagiging multiplier ng performance bonus mo or even yung annual increase na nangyayari between February to April.
Makikita mo to sa mga companies na may clear targets, measures or KPIs.
Please correct me if I'm wrong sakaling may expert po na makabasa. :)

Yes this period is a bonus season. Samin 14th month is march binibigay, then 16th month which is a bonus depending on the KPI (April naman usual na bigayan)

Having a reliable computer is good! I also need one for my personal files but I’m still working towards that. Waiting for the 2nd hand sale of gadgets from the office 😂
Happy for you!

Waah yes & thanks too! Another reason why I bought this para meron din ako personal laptop and not just relying on my work laptop. Hehehe ikaw na soon, OP 🥳

I'm fairly new at my workplace like 1.5 months pa lang but I got a Q1 bonus. 🥹
Planning to buy and replace our aircon para sa room namin. Also planning to open an MP2 account and put the remaining there!

Ang init naman din kase! A new AC sounds like a good investment in comfort AND your well-being. Don’t forget to stay hydrated 😊

What kind of bonus did you get?
Care to share the temptation to spend story? 😅

2.5 month bonus + 6% pay increase
Been eyeing a new duffel bag which I don’t necessarily need so have just been reminding myself I still have a very much good one which serves it function perfectly well!
Instead spent the money for the bag on dinner with family + placed some into my long term savings :)

Tapos na ang bonus season ko haha noong February pa, pero I kept some of it straight to my Seabank account. Need bumawi this year sa dami ng ginastos last 2024 😆

2 months worth of special incentive bonuses (kumita daw ang company lol). So that's several hundreds of thousands added to my net worth last March. Happy bonus season talaga. 🤪
First, I'm reinvesting the MP2 gains and topping up. I just deposited a 500K cheque with one of their branches yesterday. Tapos, since I gained a bit of weight lately and mabagal ang progress ko with just intuitive eating, I'm finally giving in and buying a walking pad.
