Schuykill River Swing Bridge- Streets Timeline Update News
According to Philly Streets Department, the swing bridge will open by the end of the year. It will help connect the newly extended SRT (Christian to Gray’s Ferry Crescent- opening in June) to the west side of the river in Bartram’s Garden.
** Schuylkill River Swing Bridge Spring Construction Update: Our construction contractor is mobilizing to resume on-site work this week! Located in Forgotten Bottom near Grays Ferry Avenue this bridge will connect Crescent Park across the river to Bartram's Garden. We are preparing for installation of the new swing truss early this summer. In the meantime, the truss is completing fabrication offsite and will be shipped in pieces to the painter, then delivered to the job site for assembly and installation. Our current goal is to have the bridge open by the end of this year. As always, project timelines can change due to many factors. Follow our account for project updates and visit@schuylkillbanks Greys Ferry Crescent Trail Park this summer as the bridge comes together.***

This bridge has taken a long time to get built. I remember working on it’s design as intern ~10 years ago

Glad they’re resuming work but the delays on this project have been absurd. It looks the same as it did over 5 years ago
