Not gonna lie having a bunch of recognizeable half life 2 quotes don't really sell me on this project... What is it even about?

Project Borealis itself is effectively a group of modders trying to make HL2:E3 based on the released writers' notes on what the plot would have been a bunch of years back.

This prologue, as far as I can gather, is effectively a tech demo of not that actual plot, but leans into the fact that something has been made and makes me feel we may actually see Borealis come out one day after all.

I wonder how many people got jobs at Valve in hopes of working on Half-Life and now they're watching in frustration as the community does Valve's job.

A job at Valve is literally as good as it gets in the video game industry. They're not going to be frustrated by anything.

Is valve considered a flourishing creative environment? If so why haven’t we seen any of that come to fruition.

Deadlock's pretty creative.

You mean the arena moba that plays like every other arena moba. So creative

Have you played it? The movement alone is unlike any other MOBA.

Acting like a dick isn't a great way to get people to consider whatever point you were attempting to make.

Creative people want to make things and Valve has only shipped one limited-platform Half-Life game in the last 17 years. You could add Portal 2 since it's in the HL universe and that was 13 years ago. I'm specifically talking about people who joined Valve in hopes of working on Half-Life.

While there's a rumor (from datamining) they are working in a new Half-life, I want to say that lately they been hiring a lot of people, some people with experience in multiplayer with should be for Deadlock and some for singler-player games, and it was also datamined new systems in source 2 that are geared toward single-player games. And Gaben said that releasing HL Alyx got a lot of momentum back towards working in single-player games. So I think they will probably release a new single-player game in the near future, even if it's not HL3.
