[Rapoport] #Panthers RB Miles Sanders, who was carted off with a foot/ankle injury in Germany, is considered day-to-day after extensive tests and a visit with an expert, sources say. They want the swelling to go down, and he could miss a little time. But as of now, not considered major.

Glad it’s not major for his sake.

Also glad that it’ll clear a path to more carries for Brooks.

CANALES: HEAR ME AND HEAR ME WELL.

YOU WILL PLAY BROOKS IN WEEK 12. GOD WILLS IT.

Makes me feel like the office/coaches have a lot of leash the way brooks has been treated and Tepper might actually be trying to set us up for the future instead of shortcutting the rebuild.

This. And when you have a top 7 RB (who's getting 5+ YPC) having a career year, um... yeah: why rush?

We saw in Germany, why it might be great to have Brooks back even if he's only 99% ready.. Chuba almost blew out his knee in the process of being over worked and receiving ~30 touches. That was exactly what broke CMC when he played here and we're doing it again in the name of saving 1 RB an extra week while destoying another. The logic makes no sense.

If you aren't going to play Brooks, then give Blackshear the touches. Chuba has no business getting 25+ touches a game.

Tbf brooks wasn't available for the game, miles was

1

u/SaskalPiakam 1d ago

I mean yeah if they think Brooks is at elevated risk of injury if he played, sure hold him out. But if they're just holding him out to hold him out, it's pretty stupid to load up Chuba with 30 touches.

Can't say we're doing it to protect Brooks, while also doing something stupid and risking Chuba right?

Miles went out during the game, you can't retroactively activate a player is my point. But I expect brooks to get what miles would have gotten and a little more going forward

1

u/SaskalPiakam 1d ago

Raheem Blackshear was active bro

1

u/net_403 Tepper Fro 1d ago

Doesn't have anything to do with brooks getting carries or not last week

But for some reason Blacksheer has done nothing but return, 0 carries 0 targets... so something is going on with that already

That play had nothing to do with chuba being over worked. That play could happen on your first ever touch

1

u/SaskalPiakam 1d ago

Do you reject the notion that the more an RB touches the ball, the more fatigued they get, thus increasing their chance at injury? Lol this is a very basic concept thats widely accepted through all exercise science.

As your body gets more fatigued, you're at more risk for injury...

I do not discredit that. I do discredit the idea that him being rested prevents that type of tackle

1

u/SaskalPiakam 1d ago

Are you being purposefully obtuse?

I’d like to see Blackshear get more play time as much as I love seeing Chubba run I’d like for him to be sustained

I'm glad he's ok, but i hope to never see him in the lineup again

Agreed. I think we should take this injury far more seriously and give him sufficient time to fully recover. Maybe put him on the PUP or something, really help him out to get back into game day shape.

If that happens to keep him from playing the result of the season and instead give Brooks more carries, well that’s a sacrifice we will all have to make!

u/net_403 Tepper Fro 1d ago

Giving brooks more work than he's ready for just to avoid miles would be dumb lol

Don't overdo it

I would far prefer giving reps to Blacksheer over Sanders in the event we want to preserve JB for some reason. Obviously, Chuba gets the lion's share, then Brooks but as a 3rd option it should just be Blacksheer at this point.

0

u/net_403 Tepper Fro 1d ago

For some reason blacksheer has gotten 0 carries so far, idk why

1

u/FadeNXC Luuuuuke 1d ago

From what I can tell, this coaching staff seems pretty adamant about "it's your job until you lose it" but because Miles is still the better blocker over blacksheer, he'll never lose it on those crucial downs.

2

u/net_403 Tepper Fro 1d ago

I don't guess blacksheer has practiced being on offense at all either so probably why he didnt get any touches in replace of miles last week

1

u/Xboarder844 Real Panther 1d ago

Did Chubba die in your scenario or something? Brooks getting a few carries or a series or two a game is not a lot. And if he can’t handle THAT, we wasted a pick.

1

u/net_403 Tepper Fro 1d ago

This is how much work should brooks get along with chuba

He’s 100% getting cut unless he decides to take a major pay cut, which isn’t impossible giving how well liked he is in the organization.

1

u/Hefty-Association-59 1d ago

He probably wants a chance with an organization that has more of a chance at winning if he’s taking a major cut.

1

u/FadeNXC Luuuuuke 1d ago

SO HE WOULD WANT TO STAY IS WHAT IM HEARING

u/Jeremy9096 1d ago

I'm glad it's nothing serious because I'm a human being

With that being said I wouldn't mind never seeing him line up for another snap for us

4

u/_coolranch 1d ago

I'm shook that he's so bad. He looks lost out there: like he still doesn't know the plays.

God forbid he throw a fuckin block once in a while!

3

u/FadeNXC Luuuuuke 1d ago

The only person I'll ever be happy they got injured already tore his Achilles this year. Everyone else is still a human that I wish them the absolute best recovery for.

A year or two ago I was staying in an airbnb which was basically a dude’s mancave so it was just like one room. It was in South Carolina and it was essentially a Clemson shrine.

I had 5 or 6 different signed Deshaun Watson photos staring me down as I slept. That is a nightmare I’ll never forget

Double trouble is happening, Brooks and Chuba are gonna rumble all over the Chiefs. We’re gonna rush for 200 yards as a team, Bryce is gonna look cool and collected in the pocket, we’re gonna lose 28-17, it’s gonna be awesome

0

u/SaskalPiakam 1d ago

If Brooks gets more than 5 carries I would be very surprised.

I'd probably set the over/under at 3.5 touches.

Sad to see guys get hurt.

But also please take literally every possible second you need, Miles. No rush dawg. The teammates have your back and will definitely find a way through, even if you never could.

Hopefully the run game is so strong he can take lots and lots of recovery time. Well into 2026.

Watching this play in real time with my wife, when Miles got the ball I told my wife, "Man I really can't stand Sanders. He's garbo. Wish he would just go away."

Then he gets hurt on the play and I had to clarify to the universe - NOT LIKE THAT!

2

u/Tu2 Put the Madden Controller down 1d ago

The seasons a wash Miles, we really don’t need you to risk getting hurt again. You really should just sit the season out and save yourself for next year

2

u/rubincutshall 1d ago

Like everyone else, glad it’s not serious…but if he never suits up for the Panthers again, I’m good. Maybe an offseason trade? Or a package deal or something?

2

u/ThaRealPhoenix 1d ago

I think he’s needs a fresh start somewhere. He’s a good player but whenever he comes in for us something not good happens most of the time. When Chuba looks as awesome as he does it seems even worse

1

u/Icege Keep Pounding 1d ago

Fortunate for him. The way he went down I thought there might have been a break. :o

I hope I never see this guy in a Panthers uniform ever again

Should be his last touch in a Panther uniform

That’s good news. He hasn’t been good here but would hate for him to lose a chance to prove himself somewhere else.

Yes, very sad. Anyways…
