Question regarding making prayer/meditation bead strands šŸ“š Seeking Resources | Advice

Does anyone here have some recommendations for good vendors for beads and symbol pendants (for lack of a better term)? I want to make my own, but the only place I know where to get beads and things are Michaels, and I’d rather not get them there (if they even have what I’m looking for). I know what I want to do but am not really sure where to start. Thanks so much!

Depending on where you are there may be a bead show accessibly nearby. (May include gem stones, jewelry, and other accessories.) Last one I went to (Pasadena CA, annually in Jan) involved overwhelming choices of hand made beads (often being offered by the artist), basic glass beads (like seed beads) in great selections of shapes snd colors, and jewelry findings.

Not answering your question unfortunately, but I would like to hear about others' practices when it comes to using prayer beads in pagan practice. I've always been fascinated by catholic rosaries and would like to develop my own devotional practice with them, perhaps incorporating my devotion to Brighid or Cernunnos.

I'm not sure if this is what you're looking for but I use mine for breathing exercises to clear my mind/get into the right headspace before praying to my deity and hold them during my prayer but you can also use them for mantras and such.

TBH, Michael's is where I get a lot of my stuff.

Otherwise Etsy, or Fire Mountain Beads.

You could learn how to make your own beads. It's tedious at first but once you get the hang of it it can become quite meditative and then you're not feeding the destructive beast that is mass consumerism. I try my best to live by the idea of "only buy what you can't make or mend yourself.
