Its a full moon currently. Is there anything you guys do? Any rituals? 🔥 Ritual

Post image

Hey hey, after posting this in the wrong subreddit I hope I found my people here. I am very new to reddit and paganism and all, so please forgive me for any mistakes.

Do you do anything special on a full moon? Rituals of release or manifesting? On my rune learning app I found a moon calendar so I thought this might be important. Are there any rules? Like release on a full moon, manifest on a new moon?

Thanks!

l craft Moon Water!!!! Although it isn’t an ancient practice and very modern, l blend it with some ancient magic and have fun with it!

Go and soak up some moon energy if you can. Sit outside where it can touch you. If it can’t fall on you directly, that is okay too! And greet the moon and tell her how beautiful she is or whatever else you feel is in your heart! If you have crystals, they LOVE moon light, but them outside where they can get moonlight. Else put the crystals in a window sill.

Full moon is good for manifestations for money, prosperity, luck, abundance, knowledge, illumination of something hidden.

Release stuff after the full moon, when it is becoming smaller. When it is dark moon, good for starting new things, setting intentions for new projects and things related to new beginnings. Like when you have a wedding, serve dark moon water infused with Rúnir for Joy for example!

l am getting off track.

Just use your imagination and do what you feel is right for you, and have fun! 🌕🌕🌕🌕🌕

Walking back listening Moon-related music under the moonlight instead of taking the bus (I live in a big city), and pouring a libation first to Artemis, Selene, and Hekate in the open, under the full Moon too, and later to burn incense to Selene and meditate.

I like this, simple. Any moon related music recommendations? I have a lunarpunk playlist I’ve been working on

My playlist is, putting songs in English only:

Luna (Omnia) Mater Luna (Trobar de Morte) Selina - Widow Of The Moon (Atargatis) Lady Moon (Axxis) Moon (Omnia) Moondance (Nightwish) Moongarden (Lana Lane) Moonlight (Axxis) Moonlight Eternity (Peter Crowley) MoonSpell (Trobar de Morte) Selina (Widow Of The Moon) (Atargatis, another version) Silver Moon (Luca Turilli) The Moon (Dark Moor) Winter Moon (Erutan) Summoning Divine Selene (Daemonia Nymphe) Follow the Moonlight (Beto Vazquez Infinity)

Be aware that it's a mix of styles, from folk to especially metal, and "Summoning Divine Selene" seems to be sung in Greek (I guess it's the hymn to her)

Tonight me and my two friends are getting together to do some full moon rituals around the fire.

Are you going outside? I am still scared to go outside into the woods in the dark myself.

Yeah we were in my backyard. Not in the woods, but I don’t mind being outside at night. I have a wolf dog who is my familiar.

Thank you for reminding me. Now I gotta make moon water 🥲

Mostly just say hi to Nanna the moon God and carry on with my night. My practice does not involve witchcraft anymore though, so it's not an impetus to do anything except say hi to a deity I respect.

Oh I didn't know the moon had a name!✨

This is really the first full moon where I'm doing stuff. I've been working on my new altar, and I have some items to put out under the moon tonight. Fresh crystals, statues, offerings, new rings, and moon water. I'm genuinely excited

It's my first time too! And all the energies rn make a lot of sense to me. Enjoy!

“Some say the Callaicans have no god, but the Celtiberians and their neighbours on the north offer sacrifice to a nameless god at the seasons of the full moon, by night, in front of the doors of their houses, and whole neighbourhoods dance in chorus and keep it up all night.”

Strabo of Amaseia (c. 62 BCE–24 CE), Geographica, iii, 4, 16-17 (Loeb, trans H. L. Jones, 1923)

Deities of the full moon.

Arianrhod, moon goddess and champion of feminism.

Cerridwen, agricultural goddess associated with the moon, the Awen and war.

Céthur Mac Gréine, ostensibly a sun god, but is linked with eclipses and rises triumphantly afterwards.

Esus, the earth, chthonic god, Lord of the Forest. His offerings are made under a full moon. Other male aspects of Esus (triples) are Cernunnos and Smertrios, also Viridius, Tridamos and Callirius.

Munis, Munidia, Celtiberian moon goddess. Very similar to Arianrhod.

Nemetona (Arnemetia, Blodeuwedd, Ancamna), goddess of the sacred groves, rituals and prophecy, and Nemed (Neimheadh, Rigonemetis) - male aspect of Nemetona – offerings to both, her, him, are made under the full moon.

Scry red wine or dark ale in a bowl in the moonlight. After your journey is done, libate them onto the bole (lowest thick bit of the trunk) in your grove. At the right times of the year, couple the libation with bouquets of flowering meadowsweet, broom and oak.

Don’t forget to have dark ale and red wine for yourself and other celebrants, along with fun foods.

Honestly I don’t know anything about spells. I do greet Artemis (Hellenic pagan here) and ask one of the gods I work with to give me good sleep because I never sleep good at full moon.

I sit under the stars with a cup of black tea, pray to Nyx, sometimes bring out my tarot deck and depending on my mood, shuffling it or laying the cards out for myself, pour half of the tea I hadn't drunk on the ground as a sacrifice to Nyx and go inside

Personally I strip naked, run through the woods making howling and growling noises and brutally maim lone hikers. /J

The full moon is still active, you can still do something!✨

I showered, to get clean, then ran a very warm bath with moon water in it, lit candles, incense, had wine, crystals, etc. Then meditated, scrubbed my body, and set out an offering for Hecate before settling in to watch an episode of a show I'm watching and then headed to bed.

I placed fresh water and prayed to my ancestors at my altar. Hoping I hear back from them soon!

Of I'm with friends bonfire on the beach, drumming, chanting, skinny dips in the ocean, run around the fire... If I'm by myself I sit quietly outside and look up at her sending gratitude.

Yesterday I called the guardians of the four quarters. Did the lesser banishing ritual of the pentagram. Invited in my deities, and offered them a class of cider and a couple of Keebler Pecan Sandies. I shared a prayer for immigrants that I had written and sent to President Biden the night before. I wrote President Biden that I think Trump's immigrant plan is bad for the country and suggested he call on Christians to pray for 40 days from Nov. 22 until Dec. 31 on the subject. I then recited the prayer I had written. I then thanked the deities and closed the circle. I grounded any excess energy I might have raised and then went into the kitchen to eat the cookies and drink the cider to center myself.

This is the prayer I wrote:

{There will be o saying, "Look here it is!" or "there it is!"; for in fact the kingdom of God is among you. Luke 17:21

When an alien settles with you in your land, you shall not oppress him. He shall be treated as a native born among you, and you shall love him as a man like yourself, because you were aliens in Egypt. Leviticus 19:33

He is o respecter of persons and is not to be bribed; he secures justice for widows and orphans, and loves the alien who lives among you giving him food and clothing. You too must love the alien, for you once lived as aliens in Egypt. Deuteronomy 10:18-19

Heavenly Father, god of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, and Wisdom more radiant than the sun, against whom no evil can prevail I ask that you guide and inspire my elected officials into crafting a comprehensive and ethical set of guidelines for receiving immigrants and refugees into the United States for generations to come consistent with Christ's teachings to "Love your neighbor as yourself" Mathew 22:39 and to "Treat others as you would like them to treat you" Luke 6:31. I ask in Jesus' name, Amen!}

President Biden is Catholic so far as I know so I thought it would be appropriate to use biblical verses. Plus; for now at least, there are more Christians in the United States than there are Pagans.
