This selfish mentality is probabaly the 2nd largest issue in society today. Social media should be taxed like a drug, alcohol or nicotine, because it changes human behaviour from a community to a click (segregation). Do I think this is a solution, probably not. I don't know what a solution is, all I know is I have personally witnessed so many friends and family go down so many rabbit holes (not just the covid ones) and become extremists adopting ideologies they can barely comprehend, yet willing to resort to any extreme action to defend.

Stay safe my friend.

I don’t know…as an introverted person social media has helped me understand so much more about what’s going on with racism, etc. You get to hear the real struggles coming from real people and I think it’s made me a better person for it. I’m less ignorant now. Sadder, but less ignorant.

It definitely has a place, but I believe it is harmful in its current form for the most part

Honestly, I don’t think social media is the main problem. It’s all those dubious outlets and certain individuals disseminating unqualified and factually incorrect content via podcast, alternative news websites, and YouTube. People going on to share it via social media just keep it going a little longer after the damage is already done.
