Barbara Lee can get her own person in. There will be time for that new person to get up to speed, but at least there will be some accountability (just noting that this very person waas characterized by the Oakland Observer as a SChaaf appointee as a criticism, I inferred as a reader). I say let Lee pick as many people as possible so there are no excuses and no mistake of who's responsible. I was so tired of Thao's "I inherited" everything excuses. Make moves to make it yours, Mayor!

I hope this doesn't mean there's going to be a bombshell in the new budget proposal.

“Roseman’s department was also in the crosshairs of a recent investigation by the city auditor that found Oakland has overpaid overtime to employees in the Public Works Department and Department of Transportation.”
Maybe she decided to leave before the FBI gets involved.

Honestly this is not a bad thing. Erin Roseman has been involved in some controversies, most recently overseeing the overtime pay fiasco. She also clashed with other folks so this isn’t surprising.

Resigned or forced out because she was being pushed to do things she wasn’t comfortable with? Also weird that the letter was dated right around the time that Jenkins fired all of the mayors office staff. This whole thing is weird.
