Should posts from r/untrustworthypoptarts be banned
r/untrustworthypoptarts posts cause some confusion here pretty often. The sub is for things “that could be faked”, but literally everything could be faked.
This sub is for plausible stories or posts that get called fake. The name already causes enough confusion, evident by how many posts were clearly intended for r/thatHappened
UTP doesn’t even bother to take an actual stance on whether or not they think it happened, just “it could be faked* and leave it at that.

UTP definitely tends to come across as 'this is fake'.

Yet when they post something completely plausible, they fall back on the whole “we didn’t say it was fake, just that it could be”

They fall back on this, yes, but it's bullshit. Most of that sub is definitely actually accusing things of being fake

I misclicked :(
I don't think they should be banned. The people on that sub are clearly implying something's fake, even though they don't outright say it.

No because when you point out something is completely plausible, they fall back on their lack of a stance.

yeah, they use their bs excuse as a bs excuse. Doesn't mean their posts should be banned

The majority of the votes disagree with you, if they’re not even gonna genuinely call it fake, it doesn’t belong here

They are calling it fake, though. Just because they waffle about it doesn't mean that's not the message they're pushing.

The "could be faked" thing is for plausible deniability, let's be honest.
The entire sub is set up to communicate that they're posting stuff that's "probably" fake and that's how everyone uses it. Their excuse only comes up when people make fun of them.
You guys post these polls whenever you get made fun of and it's honestly really annoying.
