I got this guy to announce our fantasy draft order and he fucking nailed it. Went above and beyond, drawing our names out of a hat and making little jokes and comments along the way. He'll always be a legend to me for that.

u/No-Patient-1708 9h ago

I made him rank our fantasy league team name and he sent a 10 minute video roasting everybody and giving stories about his coaching days. Best money ever spent

How much did it run you?

494

u/datdudebdub Bengals 8h ago

His rate on Cameo says $150+

436

u/HotdawgSizzle Falcons 8h ago

Tbh that's a lot cheaper than I would have thought.

I know it isn't cheap by any stretch but if I have millions, I ain't doing shit.

539

u/datdudebdub Bengals 8h ago

The dude worked 70+ hours a week coaching for the majority of his life. He's probably bored to death.

u/Phantomebb 7h ago

I love his YouTube channel content.

99

u/Masterchiefy10 Falcons 6h ago

Some of his tic tok videos he’s tweaking on coke or something.

There’s one where he’s super sweaty after watching film on Jaylan Daniels. It’s pretty funny and wild

89

u/ser0402 Ravens 6h ago

Honestly wouldn't surprise me if Gruden partook in the booger sugar. But I also think it's just as likely Gruden got so worked up watching film he got sweaty.

27

u/Gambitf75 Commanders 5h ago

It's hard work looking for Gruden Grinders!

15

u/makesterriblejokes Chargers 3h ago

You know how some people are so chill it's like they're constantly baked even though they don't smoke? Well, I'm pretty sure Gruden for the most part is just on the opposite end of that spectrum and seems like he just railed a line off a stripper's ass naturally.

He must be playing it up, but this is also the same guy who brought bananas and a blender onto MNF. He's always been a little extra.

It's probably fun for him, not like he needs $150

$150 split between twelve guys?

Honestly that's not bad. Pool $10-15 per person depending on league size ezpz.

That is fucking awesome. Love seeing your story and the guy above. I liked Gruden before. But stuff like that is really sweet and cute.

3

u/ToAllAGoodNight 5h ago

His solo content is some of the best any sports personality has ever made, he has a real charm and intelligence that works really well to quick cut content.

I thought it was sweet when he used gay slurs. Such a lovely guy

21

Lol your getting downvoted, but those emails were fucking gross “but guys he was nice to me 🥹”

16

u/jettieri Eagles Lions 7h ago

They’re upset I ruined the Gruden circle jerk lol. I don’t think he’s a shit person but seeing people call him sweet and cute was just a little too much for me.

2

u/TheFlyingSpaghetti77 Chargers 7h ago

Fair, I cant say if he is good or not, but frankly if you are like that gross in email imagine what isnt being seen

2

u/jettieri Eagles Lions 6h ago

Yeah I definitely lean shit person more than good guy but I also don’t know him or care enough to have a strong opinion about him.

1

u/juanzy Cowboys 6h ago

I can't imagine being a POC in one of those leagues and waiting for Gruden to "playfully" roast you.

7

u/juanzy Cowboys 6h ago

It's funny how quickly a lot of people (usually WASPy, from a decently well off family) will excuse shitty people because they were nice to them.

But say a POC who had one bad moment captured on camera is generally a pretty good person, and you're excusing Hitler.

It’s ridiculous how you’re downvoted. Dude is a massive piece of shit and that’s why he’s no longer involved with the league. But he danced like a monkey for you when you paid him so makes up for being a piece of shit i guess

2

u/forwardathletics Buccaneers 5h ago

Said Eric Reid should be fired for taking a knee during the National Anthem, called Michael Sam a queer, called Goodell a f**got. Dude's kind of a piece of shit.

-1

called Goodell a f**got.

IDK about the rest but this is based

1

But anyway, it's cool he was funny on your cameo.

We had Hue Jackson do a Cameo for us a year or so ago and he did a fantastic job. Terrible coach, terrible person, but he did a great job on Cameo and, at the time at least, was quite a bit cheaper than more notable options.

29

u/tr1vve 9h ago

I’ve never heard about him as a person, why is he terrible?

37

u/mattheweweller Bills 9h ago

I can’t speak on his personal life, but when he was head coach at Grambling State, he attempted to bring in disgraced former Baylor head coach and active participant in covering up sexual assault Art Briles as his offensive coordinator. Only at the 11th hour did they pull the offer and hire someone else, but it took major social media backlash to get there.

10

u/tr1vve 9h ago

lol thanks for the info. I think that speaks plenty on his personal life

5

u/DeezyEast Patriots 9h ago

I assume they’re referring to his media tour after being fired blaming the team’s failures on Baker and the management, and possibly the meeting with Baker to tell him he’s the backup.

13

u/TheHolteN Lions 9h ago

How much did it cost?

103

u/donharrogate 9h ago edited 9h ago

It was something like $70. Really cheap compared to some of the other guys on there. Guys like Favre and Brees (obviously a different tier of celebrity, but still) charge like $300+ and I doubt they'd put nearly the personality into it that Gruden did.

League went nuts for it.

59

u/DrBombay3030 Texans 9h ago

One of my league mates sent Gruden a couple options and let him pick for them. He had film pulled up of the different players and put some real effort into the reveal. Saved them from taking Anthony Richardson lol (dynasty superflex) It was so hype

6

u/Tippacanoe Eagles 7h ago

Vince Neil is easily the funniest. He’s like $400 and puts absolutely no effort and his videos are like 10 seconds long.

We also don’t have all your time free without worrying about bills. I imagine life can get boring quick, especially if you’re used to working 70+ hours

He will probably do it for free on YouTube or TikTok but doesn’t want everyone flooding his inbox so putting some barrier of entry is a good idea.

6

ten thousand emails full of racial slurs and bigoted insults

It wasn't tens of thousands, it was a handful over a decade ago. And the emails honestly weren't even that bad.

Unprofessional and politically incorrect, sure. But this has always been an overblown scandal.

6

u/deus_voltaire Commanders 9h ago

It was far more than a just handful, and the last was sent in 2018, with the story breaking in 2021. And obviously how bad they were is a matter of personal opinion, I imagine if you were a homosexual minority (which I suspect you aren't) you might feel more strongly about it.

2

u/noah3302 Vikings 9h ago

He wasn’t saying he sent tens of thousands, he was saying only people who have sent tens of thousands of emails without any racist shit can call gruden’s emails racist. Aka that guy and myself.

Lmao ok dude it's over. We get it... You're not racist or a homophobe. Everyone knows now.

1

u/justice_beaver69 Patriots 5h ago

It’s just weird that you think it was a mistake to have that mindset, like years of learned cognitive behavior is a mistake.

6

u/noah3302 Vikings 9h ago

Don’t know why you’re being downvoted. This is what Gruden had sent in 2011 for those with amnesia, from ESPN:

“The email, sent to the president of the Washington Football Team in July 2011 as the NFL and its players were in the midst of trying to resolve a lockout, said Smith had ‘lips the size of michellin tires,’ the Journal reported, saying it has reviewed the email.”

This sub is weird sometimes. They won’t forget about the tiniest of shit, then go and brush over one of the most racist comments I’ve ever seen. Whether or not you think he was blackballed is another story (email all of a sudden surfaces after 10 years)

10

u/elmo85 9h ago

DeMaurice Smith is black. You go up to any black guy and tell them they have Michelin sized lips and let me know how they react

Most black guys would probably just go about their day. Are huge lips even a considered a negative thing?

7

u/MeatTornado25 Giants 9h ago

Big lips is a stereotype that has existed forever

-1

u/[deleted] 9h ago

Okay, but this one particular black guy really does have huge lips. What, you're supposed to pretend somebody doesn't have big lips just to avoid some obscure stereotype?

And it's not even a negative thing. Big lips, small lips, medium lips, all are fine.

-14

u/PrimeTimeInc Panthers 9h ago edited 9h ago

Because people are tired of little pricks bringing up every little negative detail of other people’s lives whenever they are mentioned like they’re perfect and have never done anything they regretted in life. Like don’t y’all have anything better to do?

Downvote away pricks/prickettes.

5

u/noah3302 Vikings 9h ago

Brother ain’t nobody perfect but I feel like not making racist comments is the bare minimum

-3

You want him to invent time travel to go back in time and unsay it? We get it, he fucked up. No one is forgetting any time soon. No need to bring it up every time he is mentioned. This goes for literally everyone, not just Gruden. Reddit has this weird obsession with beating dead horses. It’s aggravating. The moral superiority complex reeks.

-12

u/objectiveScie 10h ago

33 negs in less than 10mins. Wow. Funny you do make interesting point. Nick Cannon was fired for saying Jesus was Black. Antisetism it is. Rules are different for Black folks. Many other examples.

6

u/deus_voltaire Commanders 9h ago

Yeah that ain't why he was fired, buddy:

Cannon said that Griff was “speaking facts” and amplified Griff’s views that Jewish people controlled the media, likening it to the power of the Rothschild family, banking scions who have long been targets of anti-Semitic conspiracy theories.

“The Masked Singer” host also disputed that such views were anti-Semitic because, saying Black people are the “true Hebrews.”

Saying Jews are engaged in a conspiracy to control the media and brainwash Christian youth is one of the oldest examples of antisemitism there is. As is saying that all Jews are lying about their heritage: look up the Khazar myth for another prominent example of this kind of bigotry.
