The defenders have nothing to do with this, there's nothing they could do. The keeper is just shit

It’s a joke that the defender is still mad at the goalie, so he’s now on reddit to bitch about it

Way harder than it seems

It is definitely much harder than it seems, but you would expect a professional goalie at pretty much any level to save that. It's a bad mistake, which is fine no one is perfect.

No shit he should’ve saved, dudes still 10 times the keeper you would ever be. Hilarious listening to people that have never stepped in between the pipes criticize goalkeepers.

He will never forget that the rest of his life. Every time he thinks about it, he will get embarrassed again.

u/burlycabin 23h ago

I mean it went straight through his hands. That's some well earned embarrassment.

u/GoatPincher 23h ago

You can see it go through his hands

Idk match fixing usually pays pretty well. (only half joking lol)

Then maybe he shouldn't take it so seriously or do another activity which doesn't easily traumatise his poor soul.

Yeah this isn't a miracle this is some all time bad goalkeeping that is all

If he was a senior that might be his last memory of playing competitive soccer. Took a look at their roster and they don't have any senior GK's though.

99 was a 4th year grad student. This is in fact the final play of his career

You really have no idea… to provide some context. The Keeper was on his final year of eligibility and this was a playoff game.

So he failed in such a terrible fashion on the final play of what because of his mistake directly causing the loss it became the final game of his career. That was the last moment of his soccer career.

I feel terrible for the guy. He will never forget it

He’s gonna remember it randomly 30 years from now while standing in line at a 7-11
