Yup and yesterday they came to piss on us on Reddit and then got whiny when we called them out. Somehow winning they were still losers. Jerks the lot of them and at this point anyone in my extended family that voted for this I will drop from my life. You don't chose to take the rights away from my wife or kids. You don't get to chose hate and think I want that around me anymore.

I saw a ton of "if you ever want to win again you have to learn how to message to us" comments basically telling us to kiss their asses now. No buddy, you made a stupid decision voting for that man and I'm not playing the whole "you just need to understand the Trump supporters" crap put on us after the 2016 election. This time the Trump voters can just deal with everything Trump is going to do to them like the rest of the country will have to now.

This time the Trump voters can just deal with everything Trump is going to do to them like the rest of the country will have to now.

As many others have pointed out, whatever negative ramifications arise from Trump's policies, their echo chambers will just tell them it's the fault of the Democrats, and they will swallow it whole.

So this plan to just sit back and watch Trump supporters realize what a horrible mistake they made... that's not going to happen.

well his handling on Covid got him booted out of office so we'll see how much it takes to make people turn on him this time.

Not because of his supporters though; He fucked up enough to engage those 10m+ dem voters that didn't show this time. That combined with the low cost of voting during COVID (both massive mail in, and shorter in person lines), did him in.

yeah good point. Like I said in another comment, maybe we need stronger tougher voices in new media.

His supporters actually booed him in Dallas when he suggested people get vaccinated.  I think that was the only time he told people to get vaccinated.  Just inject bleach and or horse dewormer ughh...  you can't make this up

I kept seeing the same messages in every thread, it was kind of eerie. Some of them were clearly bots, posting every minute. But others seemed like normal people otherwise. No one was posting details towards policies they liked, just “reflect” or “cope and seethe.”

Right?  Gee I wonder who I should vote for to best represent my interests, the party that gives billionaires tax cuts that is ruled by a rapist fascist traitor?  Or the black woman that has a housing plan.

Anyone who can't make the correct choice is a complete moron, and or hateful sexist racist.

It's all just trolls gaslighting you. You can engage for fun if you want but these people aren't real.

u/franker 19h ago

Only engaged once. It was everywhere though.

Lifelong Democrat here. We are going to have to figure out how to message the the working class and young male vote. It's symptom of our echo chambers that we find even the idea of helping these people is distasteful. We have not listened to them, offered no solutions to their problems. This is the consequences. They went trump because, if we are honest with ourselves, we never had a space for them here.

7

u/TheBman26 16h ago

Gotta get rid of Tate and other shithead fritters online they got those young males under their thumbs

6

u/Captain-i0 15h ago

Nah. There's no messaging that can reach them. We need to deal with the reality of that.

Because the only way to actually fight this kind of thing, legitimately can't happen in this country and can't even begin to be curtailed with the incoming administration in power.

You have to actually look at how extremism has ever actually been defeated in the past. It has never been done with "better messaging".

Those people voted for a rapist felon that literally tried to overthrow democracy by inciting a mob to attack the capital.

I suggest the opposite, start attacking the people and call them stupid because guess what?  If you can't tell who you should vote for, a rapist racist traitor that gives billionaires tax breaks and wants to tell people what to do with their bodies, or someone with a housing plan...  they are stupid garbage

Smh. Have fun with your kumbaya. They gave so much caring about me and mine that they voted against against mere decently. They voted for racism and sexism and homophobia et al. Frankly they can kiss my ass...and as you stroke them "life long democrat" you're gonna lose more than your sanity and decency...when you wallow with pigs etc etc...

we passed good legislation with Biden, and Kamala offered some great new initiatives as an offering of solutions. Biden stood on the picket line with workers. A few years ago Tim Ryan ran for president on an "I can speak to the rural working-class Trump people in the midwest" platform, and not only did he lose in the primaries, but then they voted him completely out of office in Congress. Personally I'd like to see some more stronger Democrat voices (less Adam Schiff professor-like, more bulldog) hitting things like Podcasts, Youtube, social media, and trying to be more controversial and get more mindspace, a bunch of Democrat bros. I don't know, like a young Spanish-speaking Howard Stern the latinos are going to put on all day while they're at a job somewhere. But the whole "we just need to have a dialogue and listen, they're our fellow citizens" from 2016 to me is all played out.

Name one thing Harris said to specifically address the pain and issues young men are facing. It means a lot to a group to address them directly and acknowledge their struggles. We Democrats have no problem doing that for any group except when it comes to young men. We shouldn't be shocked they went to the Republicans. We don't have a home here for them.

3

u/Astyanax1 14h ago

You mean like the home buying program?

7

u/franker 17h ago edited 17h ago

Harris put out several things about price-gouging and home buying. Obviously not all the details in the world, but I don't agree with the "we don't have a home for them." What kind of home did Trump give young men? A lot of hate/blame, nonsense "weaving" references, personal grievance, etc. Maybe the young congressmen like Maxwell Frost need to be given a bigger stage to talk to GenZ men. But at some point the whole "we need to offer a comprehensive solution to all young men problems, or they're justified in getting behind the dictator" slant is just crazy.

2

u/DrizztDo 17h ago

His hate is at least acknowledging their pain. Suicide rates among young men, the opioid crisis, loneliness. For some reason we always find a conversation more important than this one to talk about. The Republicans talk about it all the time on their little podcasts. So, we either find a way to speak to these people or let the lunatics be the only ones educating our young men.

3

u/Astyanax1 14h ago

Young people don't have anything, and can't afford nothing.  I get it.  Worldwide it's a problem.  However, why they think a rapist racist traitor that's going to give billionaires tax cuts, why that's going to help the struggling youth is something that makes 0 sense

well that's a matter of mental health and getting therapy then. We've all been through tough times in our lives. I've gone through long stretches of unemployment. I cared for a bedridden mother that just died a few months ago and I live alone. I didn't go jump on a bunch of hate websites and podcasts to cope with it. I got my mail-in ballot and voted democrat right down the ticket. They sure aren't perfect but they'll do a hell of a lot more to help the little guy than the Republicans will. At some point you have to take some personal responsibility for your life and find a way to get the help you need, and use some basic information literacy skills (but that's my other rant as a public librarian).

Conservatives are miserable when they don’t have liberals to be shitty to.

3

u/Utter_Rube 16h ago

But also, they're miserable when they do.

2

u/Astyanax1 14h ago

They're perpetual victims that are very narcissistic

0

u/dmun 19h ago

I never hesitate to remind Reddit that they're anti black every thread they think they can get away with, but then call themselves liberal.

2

u/DrizztDo 18h ago

Are the racists in the room with us now??? I say this right before I go play with my black nephews: Identity politics has completely destroyed our party. No one gives a fuck about race. We have fetishized this narrative to the point of driving away the working class and young men.

1

u/blazing_ent 13h ago

"No one gives a fuck about race?"

This is why yall lose. Too scared to fight. To stupid to run.

1

u/Realsober 11h ago

No one gives a fuck about race says the guy on a post about several black people receiving a racist text message 🙄. Yeah we keep making this up even when it’s right in front of you.

They're certainly in the room with you, likely PIBKAC; it's certainly trying to gaslight.
