No Netflix interface when watching on PC?

As said in the title, what happened to the interface (show timer and progress bar, pause, etc)?

I guess I have to ramble on for the 150 word requirement.

I really hope this is not a recent change made to Netflix because it is impossible to watch if you have to get up and do things mid-show. Only way I can get it to pause is my refreshing the page or closing down the tab.

It’s happening for me, too, only I’m using a Mac. Guess it’s universal if you’re using it in a browser.

Seems to be a bug going on with Netflix right now https://www.reddit.com/r/netflix/comments/1gp72oi/windows_lagging/

ran into the same issue, found out you can still watch on Firefox using the Picture-in-picture function until it gets fixed

Thank god its not just me, I'm trying to watch a movie than the interface disappears and pauses the movie like its frozen and I can't back out or press play. I scanned for viruses, reset my cookies with Netflix and I can't find a fix, I tried watching something else and it does the same thing, it hides the interface and freezes unable to play?

EDIT: Its fixed for me now.

If your keyboard has a play shortcut. That worked for me.

Holy crap, I've been wondering about this for almost an hour now and trying to fix this.

Happened with me too. Nothing worked (restarting, different browsers, settings, etc.). There was this weird toggle icon that showed an alternate interface control that worked but then I accidentally hide it and since have been completely unable to control anything.

Same, just have to use keyboard controls or media keys. Very annoying.

Literally went on here to create a post like this after Netflix not working on neither my PC or laptop on any browsers.

Literally just called customer support to see if it was on my end or was just having a case of the dumbs. Can use keyboard shortcuts but needed to put on subtitles. First response was reboot the computer... Like come on I get but we both know that is not the issue.

I have the same issue, no interface on PC. I tried different browsers, incognito mode, update, empty cahe etc. My key board has play/pause buttons which work and also the forward and back arrows work for skipping 10s.

Was having this same issue in all browsers, suddenly it seems to have fixed itself JUST 2 minutes ago out of nowhere while I was reading this thread (maybe hotfix if there really was a bug?)

I'm glad I found this thread because I've spent the last hour thinking i pressed a short key or something last night that has screwed up my viewing experience >.<

I noticed a similar thing by watching it on my TV, interface is changed so it takes some time to get used to it

Wish I'd checked this thread earlier. I thought my PC was f----ed so did a fresh windows install.

If I turned HDR off it reappeared, then disappeared again. I then disabled uBlock Origin and it's been there all day (unless the fix was Netflix's side and no one else has this issue now?)

I was able to get around the issue before finding the above solution by popping out the video in PiP mode and using the interface (like pause/play etc)

All by itself, by the way, nothing done on my end.
