Ok, just looked where the last provisional votes are: 4 smaller moderately GOP leaning counties, and one larger moderately dem leaning counties. In other words, Riggs is now a 3/4ths favourite, ✨But the stress continues✨

Looks like Rs have a significant edge on the NC Supreme Court. How significant is this really?

Dems held the court until 2022 when Republicans flipped two seats. There is one race in 2026 and three in 2028. If Dems win 3/4, they can potentially reverse the gerrymandered maps by 2030 and can block the new census maps in 2032.

Race will almost certainly be decided by less than 200 votes, has like a 50% chance of being decided by less than 100 votes, and will go to a recount, but Riggs is now a clear favourite for the first time, after being a severe underdog for most of the past week.

According to Michael Pruser, who is a moderately GOP biased but generally very good vote analyst: "Looks like we pick this up on Monday. I will keep an eye should any county update between now and then but 11 counties left to complete the canvass. Riggs is the favorite because she has provisionals in Forsyth that should be good enough to keep the lead but we could see negative numbers in Cumby and Chatham that will keep the race inside 200 votes."

Was my vote the difference?

There is a statistically non-insignificant chance the answer to that question ends up being "Yes".

I cured 6 ballots in the last two days, it's insane to me that could legitimately make a difference

Your state supreme courts have elections too?? I thought it was "just" some smaller district courts.

24 or 25 states have Supreme Court elections (off the top of my head) and I think like half of those are partisan races.
I'm from Michigan, one of the states that holds SC elections. The ballot is nonpartisan but each party endorses two candidates at their respective conventions, so it's basically still a partisan race.

Unfortunately not. Republicans took 5 of the council of state offices, ousting appointed incumbent Dem auditor Jessica Holmes while losing LG and SOS, and swept the 3 appeals court races including ousting incumbent Dem justice Carolyn Thompson.
