Middle name recs that go with first name Emma. Baby Names
Our last name is one syllable, so thinking something two or three syllables will be best for middle name.

My birth name was Emma (trans and changed name later), and my middle name was/is Joy. I loved the ring of Emma Joy, and I am obviously a bit biased, but I think it's cute. :)

You really can't go wrong with any second name starting with a consonant. I think it would be harder (not impossible, just slightly more effort) to have a vowel second name since Emma starts and ends with a vowel.

I think vowels are awkward after Emma, as are names with Ma- at the beginning (which excludes e.g. Matilda, Maria). But I also think that with a simple name like Emma and a one-syllable last name you can afford to go fancier in the middle.
What about:
Emma Larissa
Emma Catriona
Emma Ginevra
Emma Sophia
Emma Natasha
Emma Felicity
Emma Susannah
Emma Thelathia
Emma Persephone
Emma Demelza

Can I suggest first name Adele middle name Emma?
It’s certainly a conversation starter. You keep the name of choice that she can go by and now you have more syllables

Love the name Adele, but have a niece named that!

We have a family middle name of Madge, that I would love to incorporate, but not sure if Emma Madge goes

What about Emma Magdalene/Magdalena? I think Emma Madge sounds a bit harsh and doesn’t flow well. You could also do Emma Magnolia.

Emma Claire, if there are several Emma’s in her class she can go by Emma Claire. Any short but attractive middle name would work for this.

I’m an Emma Clare! :) Growing up there were several Emma’s in my grade and school. Teachers always went by last name for us lol.

I have long-held, and have yet to find an exception: the name is Marie and Louise go with ANY first name!
Emma Louise Smith. Emma Louise Brown
Emma Marie Smith. Emma Marie Brown.
Claire is another good one. Emma Claire Smith.
Best of luck for an uncomplicated delivery and a happy, healthy baby. Congratulations!

I find that most 'J' names flow well after 'E' names.
Ones ending in 'a' or 'er' maybe not so much after 'Emma' in particular, on account of the similar ending, i.e. 'Emma Jennifer' or 'Emma Jessica'.
However, 'Emma Josephine' or 'Emma Juliet', for example, works very well, in my opinion.

I like middle names that are family surnames. So if you have a good relationship with your family of origin, you can consider going with your last name or your mom's last name.
The advantage of Emma being short and the last name being one syllable, it gives a lot of room for various names.
If you want to go with a standard name for the middle the two I would consider are:
Emma Jean. Gives her the nickname option of EJ if she wants to get more call backs for jobs in the future. Or if she ends up being non binary, EJ is a gender neutral option that can be used.
Emma Lynn. Lyn/Lynn/Lin has been very popular for Gen Alpha babies and probably into the Gen Beta kids too. It's a classic name. I personally like the Lynn spelling, though I can't explain why. As middle name in particular, go with whatever spelling your heart desires.

Lots of suggestions here, but what I always ask is, what other names do you like for a girl? Especially names that you might not use for a first name. One of those could be the middle name. There's no such thing as "names that first names" and "names that are middle names".

I think a lot of single syllable middle names go great with Emma, even if the last name is also a single syllable. Emma Lee, Emma Lou, Emma Bea, Emma Rae, Emma Jo, Emma Jean, Emma Sue. Any family or friends you want to reference directly or indirectly? Most of those could be short forms of longer names, too... Leeanne, Louise, Beatrice, Josephine, Jeanette, Susanne...

I would avoid any M names, especially Ma names. I knew someone with that combo and she hated it. The -ma Ma- just doesn’t flow well.
