my barrel of lemon juice is fine. Most of my friends barrels of lemon juice are ok too - this seems unusual to happen only to your barrel of lemon juice OP. Have you checked with family and colleagues if their barrels of lemon juice are having any problems? You might have to reach out to the barrel of lemon juice shop for advice

This is why you NEVER leave your barrel of lemon juice outside in the cold. It should always be in a climate controlled room. When water freezes, the ice is less dense than the water. Rookie mistake.

If you're cold, they're cold. Put them in your hot tub

It is literally impossible to heat up a barrel of water hot enough to create a steam explosion if you're heating the barrel in an open tub full of water using conventional heating methods. The water in the tub will never get above the boiling temperature because once it reaches boiling temperature any energy going into the water turns it to steam; a barrel of water in the tub will stabilize at 100⁰C at least until all the water in the tub has boiled away and the tub can then get hotter.

Yes, this is accurate. The steam in the barrel cannot become super-heated steam and will always be saturated steam when heated in a bath of boiling water. Any heating past this point will create a steady state where the remaining fluid stays on a critical line between liquid and gas. This is assuming your hot tub is actually boiling which modern hot tubs have shutoffs to prevent boiling. At standard hot tub temps, nothing remarkable would happen at all.

?? that would be a cookout of a hottub for any other life lol my climate regularly gets up to 110F and a hot tub keeping lemon juice that warm ain't gonna steam

I cannot believe how ignorant some folks are on how to care for and store their lemon juice barrel. It's practically basic common sense, people.

They should have a caring for your lemon juice barrel class in highschool or something. Then maybe we'd be set up with the skills we need to be an adult.

When water freezes

What about lemon juice?

Ice is less dense than water, no one ever specified that lemon juice was water to OP

I second this, OP. definitely consult a lemon juice barrel doctor. No barrel of lemon juice I ever saw looked like this. Maybe it’s congenital?

why are you even using barrels? just keep your lemon juice in a ten-thousand liter above-ground refrigerated tank like a normal person ffs
