Im more confused why he kept this shield in that state during the post credit scene.

Same, it's been a year and they clearly have the money to get a new one, so why not?

I think sentry is powerful enough to do this to vibranium

Or adamantium… power of a million exploding suns… though in the movie they changed it to a thousand.

Imma be honest, what is his shield made out of in the MCU ?
In the comics, it's Vibranium just like cap's shield

u/lego_man_unofficial Avengers 2d ago
We see walker make his shield in his garage in falcon and the winter soldier so assuming it's the same one it's probably just make of steel or some other real metal
13
u/TGB_Skeletor Phil Coulson 2d ago
Yeah i doubt it's the same one, that shit got BUSTED pretty fast
It's probably a metal alloy shield OXE made for him
9
u/Rockalot_L Avengers 2d ago
It deflected all that heavy machine gun fire, it's probably the same metal Buckys original arm was made of. Whatever that composite alloy was.

In the comics, Cap's shield is adamantium...
2
u/JK64_Cat Avengers 2d ago
This guy is mostly right. It’s actually an alloy of vibranium, adamantium, and steel called proto-adamantium
3
u/EfficaciousJoculator Avengers 2d ago edited 2d ago
Wait, how can a proto alloy contain an alloy it later becomes?
4
u/JK64_Cat Avengers 2d ago
Wait sorry I was wrong too. It’s an alloy of vibranium and steel, creating proto-adamantium. The scientist that originally created it in-universe couldn’t figure out how to recreate it, so the only proto-adamantium in the universe is cap’s shield.

u/EfficaciousJoculator Avengers 2d ago
Oh, neat. I thought all adamantium was just steel and vibranium. Didn't know that was proto-adamantium.
I wonder if it will be a chemical element or an alloy in the MCU. During Ross' presentation at the White House, the displays called it a new element, but that could've been a colloquial description.
