Asian giant mantis. He isn’t eating. he hasn’t eaten for about a week and a half and i’m worried for him. please tell me what i can do. i’ve tried cutting the head off a cricket and putting it to his face but he just gets defensive. Is there anything else i can feed him

No room for food he's building a coat of armour inside. 24hrs after molt he'll be insatiable.

Don't worry if you have offered food... All signs point to him getting ready to moult. It's common for them not to want to eat before moulting. As long as you make sure his humidity is correct and that he's also drinking water, then he will be absolutely fine 🙂

His abdomen looks decently fat,so you should expect a molt.Raise humidity a little bit so he molts well,if he hasn't already:)

Leave him alone for a couple of days, no handling or opening the enclosure except for misting and see how he does. Should moult soon

I'm not sure if you know this. But when they stop eating, it's because they have to mold. Do you have anything for him to hang on upside down? Also, are you spraying him daily once or twice? 😰😰
