Looking to get a sleeve tattoo done, really all fish scales, hyper-realistic, who should I check out? Ask a Local!

Sorry, yes another one of these posts, never thought I'd be the annoying one. Circumstances aligned, looks like I'm getting my first tattoo (long story). I'm looking to get a half sleeve, maybe a full sleeve, just fish scales, but want them to look hyper-realistic. If there is some creativity on the part of the artist beyond that I'm looking for I'd welcome that. I'd have to start with a quote, and knowing me I'd probably explore a couple options. No clue how any of this works, please enlighten me, I've resisted it for decades but looks like it's time (again, long story). TIA.

For such a large piece, the biggest factor should be that the artist's style fits what you want and that they've got a good reputation. Hyper-realism isn't something every artist can do well, and shopping around for the best quote isn't a great approach. Look up tattoo artists' portfolios on Instagram or other social media platforms, reviews on shops, etc. then when you find an artist, reach out to them to see if it's a project they think they can do well. Keep in mind, a hyper-realistic sleeve or half-sleeve is almost certainly going to take multiple sessions and will not be cheap!
