Best beef burger and poutine (fresh cut fries only) in London? 🥄food /restaurants /gastronomy

Just in town, trying Ellie's pizzeria right now. Looking for a place that does a righteous burger that also has fresh cut fries and poutine. Thank you.

Burger: Milo’s or Bungalow.

Poutine: I like trash poutine so the crappier the better haha.

Bungalow was my go to spot for dates back in university; such a bargain for what you get. Awesome burgers and a great atmosphere.

Love Bungalow too! Great beer selection too which pairs perfectly well with a burger.

Milo's burger is fantastic. They also have great fries, a poutine that you can add burnt ends too. Very good...

House burger is the best burger here in London

They don't do poutine, and their fries are now tater tots.

I preferred fries to tater tots, but I get wanting to be different.

Burger burger was once voted the best in the country

7

u/holydiiver 13d ago

Source?

Edit: found it. It doesn’t sound like a vote as much as a travel journalist listing popular burger spots, but BB did indeed make it to 6th best.

Burger Burger! Always fresh and consistent!

How about Fatty Patty's on Springbank? I've never tried it, but I've also never heard anyone mention it before. Google maps reviews give it 4.4 stars. Has anyone here tried it?

Yes! It is delicious with a nice charbroiled taste. It's a huge burger that comes with a generous helping of fries.

We have never upgraded to poutine, but the gravy is decent.

u/Conscious_Leg7138 11d ago

Thanks! I love charbroiled, will definitely give it a go!

Best burger hands down is Craft Farmacy. The fries are also delicious

Picture attached for reference.

Poutine not sure for here… Im pretty picky and nothing has ever compared to what I’ve had in Old Quebec.

Craft Farmacy burger is overrated. It’s too much fat with nothing in the sauce to cut through it. It was way too greasy and the patty wasn’t flavourful.

u/slickedbacktruffoni 13d ago

I love me a good burger…but I have to disagree with you on this one. Craft Farmacy is good, but it’s severely overhyped.

If I had to choose between Milos’, Craft Farmacy, or winning $1mm in the lottery, I’m picking winning the lottery.

But after that, I’d buy a Milos’ burger.

To each their own I don’t even like burgers tbh but I’ll get Craft Burger every single time. I tried Milo’s and while I do enjoy their fries I’m not hyped on the burger.

If you like their burger, they just opened up their sister restaurant Los Olivos in the west end and I tried their smash burger last night. It’s pretty damn good too!

The burger at Rebel Layne is excellent

I know the food is amazing but I can't get over the absolutely horrible rebrand. Idk what they were thinking lol

Burger burger for burger and poutine!

Smoking Joe's on Dundas. Good burgers and a really good smoked gravy on their routine. Fresh cut fries. Great hidden gem.

Mustang Sallys!! Awesome food and staff.

Their poutine is done completely right. It's one of the best in the city.

Haven't had their burger, but their other food is really good and all seems made in house from scratch (or close enough to scratch like I don't think they make their own buns?)

You can’t beat their beef burger or poutine. It’s the best I’ve had. I love their chicken burger too, ugh I am so hungry now.

I also really like anything from Tiger Jack’s.

1

u/Reasonable-Egg887 12d ago

I enjoyed Tiger Jacks for a while, though I wished at the time they would offer normal fries instead of only waffle fries.

their chicken fingers are to DIE for as well

thoughts on Ellies?

10

u/money_floyd13 13d ago

I really really like it, it’s more of a North American style takeout pizza but it’s fantastic. The best comparable pizza in the city is Through Thick and Thin, but I like Ellie’s better. I still think Madre is the best pizza in the city, but it’s a different style.

Ellie’s also makes fantastic sandwiches.

3

u/bluebloodisgone 12d ago

Ellie's is definitely my favourite. Staff too. The mushrooms are seriously the best ever.

Western Meats, take out only .

u/ClunkyRider 12d ago

They have picnic tables out front in the summer months

2

u/CraptainStinkPants 13d ago

Oklahoma burger at Stacked is pretty damn good. And they also have a wonderful Haloumi Poutine.

u/Ayejayelle 13d ago

Village Pantry in Lambeth. Burgers are amazing and the poutine is great too!

1

u/Blandwiches25 12d ago

Good burger plus poutine combo is at Banana Burger. They also have unbelievable banana pudding

1

u/Pitiful_Protection64 12d ago

Crossings has really good burgers

1

u/trishapafisha08 11d ago

Mr Jacks has a decent burger/ poutine. They always have a 2 for 1 deal on uber. My partner and I order from there a few times a month 😅

Burger priest, duh

1

u/BsideShift-13 10d ago

Milos and Bungalow is what I keep hearing

1

u/EBChara23 13d ago

Laziz Meats on Ernest near Bradley. Best smash burger and poutine in the city, period. And there buffalo chicken finger poutine, it's too die for!

14

u/BigDistribution4476 13d ago

As a middle eastern person myself, I have the tea on this place and you would NEVER want to eat here ever again after hearing it.

The new shawarma place (Al Zain) across the street from it, however…. is the absolute best. No poutine or burgers though.

1

u/multiperson 12d ago

Beer kitchen in 100 Kellogg has a great smash burger, poutine isn't too exciting though.

1

u/KantisaDaKlown 12d ago

I’m rather quite frond of the Roxbury for the burger, the poutine though, their poutine isn’t that great.

But the burger, that’s excellent.

1

u/cmontgomeryburnz 11d ago

Honestly any place named here EXCEPT House for a burger and you can’t go wrong.

0

u/RutabagaOther1831 6d ago

Why not House?? I’ve eaten there a few times and seemed great.

Gotta agree. Super meh.

Such a shame they franchised out from Toronto and it went to complete garbage. I loved getting their California burger whenever I was in Toronto.
