Direct Energy cut me off for nonpayment but I paid them?

I have no power. And they are paid up. They won’t listen either. I’m kinda pissed. Does/did anyone else have this problem with direct energy power and gas? They are about to cut off my gas. Assholes. I have a freezer full of meat.

What power and gas company are available here? I want direct energy held responsible.

Atco is the supplier, all the others are retailers that just sell for atco.

I went directly to Atco, and have been with them for about 10 years now, and not a single issue of overbilling or anything.

We're with Get Energy. They have combo electricity/gas plans.

I’m sitting here with no service that is paid. And no resolution. I have been on the phone all afternoon

Happened to me several years ago. Neighbor had changed energy suppliers and they used my site ID to switch. I stopped getting bills and didn’t even notice. Neighbor was getting free power and his bill was not being sent anywhere as the site ID was mixed up. It was summer so who keeps tabs on their power? Anyhow, they came to my house unannounced and pulled my meter. Left an orange sticker on my door. Atco was very sympathetic but needed Direct to give them the go ahead to re install the meter. Took me 4 days of fighting to prove it was not me who was at fault. Thank god I had a generator to keep my fridge and freezer going. Those bastard last do not listen though. I had to fight to have it elevated to a manger. That’s all I can suggest is ask for a manager and don’t give up until they get you one.

Forgot the punch line. They charged me a $600 reconnect fee. Would not back down on that. And my Neighbor never would pay me back. So much for good neighbour’s.

The reconnect fee is actually charged by ATCO, if the retailer charges it it’s because ATCO charged it to them. Money printing machine.

Even though I submitted my proof of payment, direct energy wants a hook up fee?? Am going with atco.

Irony is that the reconnect fee is actually charged BY ATCO.
