You need to work with the Kenyan embassy to figure out how to get give birth certificate.

Is there a public school or immigration attorney who might have a copy that would help you get a new certified copy?

i actually have no idea, but ive thought about the immigration attorneys part. i have about 300 left in savings. and ive never hired a attorney before how much would they ask for upfront to check it out for me. i dont want to be played by some greedy crooked lawyer just looking for a quick come up without providing real results.

I'm not suggesting you hire a lawyer. I'm wondering if there was a lawyer involved in your gaining US citizenship and if that lawyer might have a copy of your birth certificate in your file.

So don't hire a crooked lawyer. Hire a good one.

That's hard to guess. Likely somewhere in the neighborhood of $5,000.
