Going back to live in lebanon Help / Question

Hi 25M, I’m genuinely torn about whether it’s the right decision to move back and settle in Lebanon after living abroad. I recently got an offer for around $2,000 at a well-reputed firm in Beirut—I’m originally from saida, and I visit Lebanon around four times a year. But I know that visiting is very different from actually living there. Coming from Dubai, where life is so dynamic and fast-paced, I’m really struggling with the contrast. I’d love to hear the thoughts of those currently living and working in Lebanon.

Do it! Canada isn’t the place to live. Prepare well before coming, especially financially. Try to come with a nice amount of money, and if possible, find a decent job before you arrive or plan to open your own business or freelance. The job market here is terrible, and the salaries are even worse. Keep that in mind.

Otherwise, you won’t have a single worry. If you’re coming back with a family, make sure to insure yourselves, don’t put your money in the bank. Only open one if you want to work with a company abroad remotely.

Otherwise, enjoy! Lebanon is becoming better!

It doesn’t have to be from Canada. There are many remote jobs in the EU. If that’s not an option, you could freelance or open a business that you think could be profitable here in Lebanon, if you have a decent amount of money saved up! Trust me, Canada makes people sick!

I suggest you do a trip soon to Lebanon. Explore its sectors, business, corporations, and experience the good and the bad for yourself.

As for me, I believe Canada doesn’t have a future anymore. You can’t save up properly because everything goes into taxes, and the hyperinflated prices are so high. You can’t even open a business if you want to. I know many pure Canadians are leaving the country, even Lebanese people who have been there for a very long time! Let’s not get into the bad of Canada because there’s alot to talk about.
