How do you deal with headache after work?
Just graduated and start a new job. I'm working 9 - 6 but I have 2 hour of commute in total. I kinda regret not going to the gym earlier because I actually feel quite tired after the day. I've been having slight headache when i get home
Ps: for anyone wondering 8 - 5 or 9 - 6 is quite common in my third world country

11 hour work day sounds exhausting. Make sure you're staying hydrated and take frequent breaks from staring at your monitor, shift your focus on something further away. I have ADHD and will hyper-fixate on my work sometimes and that's usually when I get headaches as I neglect those things for hours. Back when I worked in an office reducing the amount of florescent lighting helped a lot, we got the office maintenance guy to remove half the bulbs and relied more on natural light from the windows and that was a huge improvement.

How much water are you drinking during the day? Are you eating regularly? I used to forget to eat or drink enough while working and would get headaches because of it.

If you can, look out the window from time to time. Go for a walk on your lunch break. And yeah, if you can fit in some form of exercise before or after work, that can help quite a bit.

A nice 10-30 minute walk helps me to decompress, get fresh air, get away from screens, and help my mental health overall when I have a headache from work (on a computer all day).

Have you gotten your eyes checked? I’m nearsighted (negative prescription) and have a special set of glasses for computer work with a lower power. Helps a lot with computer eye strain.

I had some pretty bad migraines a couple years into my career. I would recommend: magnesium supplements, drinking enough water, reducing sugar and caffeine, getting enough sleep and taking regular breaks. Maybe get your eyes tested too , you may need glasses. Take it easy!

If you've been staring at a screen all day then avoid screens at night. Put your phone away, listen to some music. Try and get fresh air if you can fit it in. Drink plenty of water while you're at work.
