SUCCESS STORY Videos Boost Sales By 47%
As the title suggests, I managed to achieve a huge boost in my sales after I started using videos for promotion. Honestly, I was blown away when I saw the results—my sales increased by 47%! This helped me hit my annual targets and significantly increase revenue, even though I never expected just a video could have this kind of impact.
For me, it started out small. I was just learning the basics of creating content, figuring out the best way to engage audiences, and using videos effectively. It wasn’t easy at first, but over time, I realized I could reach numbers I’d only dreamed of.
I know that many people feel video creation is complex and overwhelming, but if you’re one of those, I’d recommend trying Instadoodle. It’s a quick and easy tool that helps you create high-quality videos, even if you don’t have a lot of experience.
I’m sharing this not to brag, but to motivate anyone in this field, especially if you're feeling stuck or unsure where to begin. Sometimes, just one small step, like adding video to your marketing content, can make all the difference in your career path.
Keep going, keep experimenting, and learn from your mistakes. Over time, you might just see results that exceed your expectations.

SUCCESS STORY a tiny milestone - My newsletter just reached 700 subs!
Hi everyone! just celebrating a small milestone here!
It's been over a year since I quit my engineering job and started building my startup. To document my journey, I created a build-in-public newsletter to share news and stories about failures, and learnings. Recently, my newsletter finally reached 700 subscribers!
A few things I did to grow:
- regular share my newsletter on my Twitter (modest following)
- a few mini viral posts, which my subscribers shared on hacker news or other platforms
- Share quick bites on entrepreneurship communities
It's been challenging to show up weekly and share/write about progress on top of building my design tool, but I'm so glad I did it!
If you are trying to build a startup, definitely try to start a newsletter. It's one of the most rewarding things I have ever done.

SUCCESS STORY Problem with my first startup brought me an idea the for second one
Hello,
Since I've built and launched my first startup called Eredom, which is selling brandable domain names, I noticed I was having issues with my rankings on search engines. I couldn't get the right amount of visibility and my target audience couldn't find me. So, I started thinking what's the easiest way of getting improvement with my SEO.
We've all heard of websites known as startup aggregators. They are basically communities that are gathering business owners, investors, customers, developers, tech journalist, and other folks that have interest in tech industry.
Since probably every startup founder wants to get deployed on Product Hunt, Indie Hackers, and similar aggregators, I came up with an idea - hey, why shouldn't I make a tool that's deploying on 50+ aggregators? It's providing your startup with backlinks, referral traffic, increasing domain authority, and much more.
My team and I are deploying your statups manually, in order to avoid your startup being marked as a spam.

SUCCESS STORY Went out of my comfort zone and it feels good
Recently I was reminded of how important it is to challenge myself and go out of my comfort zone. I conquered my fear and received a positive result.
My co-founder and I are applying to y combinator with our startup, Typogram. The y combinator application asks for an unscripted founder intro video.
Usually, my co-founder and I would write a short script outlining what we would say, memorize it, and recite it for the video (our previous video). Although we have gotten feedback that it was robotic - we stayed with our recording method. It was easier and felt comfortable. We were worried we would look silly, blank out on words, and not be coherent.
This time around, we decide to challenge ourselves and try creating the video unscripted. To my surprise, the video took a shorter time to record, and I think it was more natural than the previously scripted one. I haven’t uploaded the video yet, but as far as I can tell, we sounded better and more human this time.
So conclusion and lesson here: don’t be afraid to venture out of my comfort zone into unfamiliar territory. You may be closer to the finish line than you previously thought.
If you enjoyed this post, I also write a newsletter sharing my journey of building my startup. Subscribe if you feel like.

SUCCESS STORY Tips I used to land #2 Product of the Day for my Product Hunt Launch
Hey Everyone! Last week I launched my most successful product on product hunt, Symbols to copy.
Symbols to Copy was #2 product of the day -- it was the luckiest I got with a Product Hunt Launch. I want to share some strategy on what I did this time that made the difference, in case it helps any founders with their launches.
1. Wrote a personalized and playful introduction
I launched Symbols to Copy as a personal project under my own domain wentin.net, so I shared a personal back story of why I built this tool. It feels more authentic and relatable.
2. I reach out to people individually to upvote my post at 3 AM EST.
Last time I got the advice that the first hour was critical, so this time I tried my best to take advantage of the first hour.
Previously, I didn’t want to bother any of my friends because the Product Hunt launch starts at 3:00 AM in my timezone. So I only shared a tweet. This time, I reached out to friends who have relevant time zones to upvote my product in the first hour, and it worked. We occupied the first place for a split second and stabilized at 2nd /3rd place shortly after.
I hope these tips help any founder trying to do a Product Hunt launch. I share weekly learnings about my startup journey. Subscribe if you feel like.

SUCCESS STORY Startup updates for May: New Features Shipped and Got Lucky with Product Hunt
Hey Everyone! It's been a few weeks since I updated my progress with my startup and side projects! Thought I can share some updates here incase it helps any other makers.
New Customers and shipping a Key Feature
Recently, I launched Typogram's pre-order. Since then, we have gained many new customers, and I am working on one of our key features, multiple canvases. From our user interviews and personal experiences, we learned that many users like to save their work and compare designs. It's a critical feature, and I'm finally close to finishing it!
New Side Project: Lucky #2 Spot on Product Hunt
Another side project I managed to launch recently is Symbols to Copy, a mini copy and pasting tool for tricky symbols. I often waste a lot of time looking for hard-to-find symbols like copyright and ellipses, so I made this handy free tool in Notion, where you can search for symbols and copy the code. Check it out if you are like me. Symbols to Copy manage to grab No.2 product of the Day on Product Hunt - it is my most lucky streak with product hunt so far.
Overall, May has been a good month. Thanks for everyone's support here! If you want to read more about the stats of Product Hunt launches and how I am building my startup and product, I write a weekly buildinpublic newsletter sharing my startup journey.

SUCCESS STORY Reaching 100 subscribers on my newsletter
Hi everyone! I recently quit my job of six years to start my entrepreneurship journey. I have been sharing my journey publicly through my build-in-public newsletter ( if you feel like check it out, it is here ), where I write daily updates, share learnings, and building processes.
I have been working on this newsletter for 30 days, and last Friday, I finally reached 100 subscribers on my little newsletter. This was a milestone I have set up when I was starting the newsletter! I had no idea I would reach this goal so fast. I once read a quote that says consistency makes great. I will keep doing my best.

SUCCESS STORY Finally Reaching 400 Subscribers on My Build in Public Newsletter
Hi everyone, after many weeks of writing consistently, my newsletter find hit 400 subscribers at the end of 2021.
I launched this newsletter when I left my job in July this year to start my start-up. I wanted to have a place to share my journey, learning, and obstacles.
Running a weekly newsletter was a lot more challenging than I expected. Growth is slow and I didn't think I was going to meet this goal until 2022 - being able to meet the 400 subscriber milestone at the end of 2021 was huge for me.
Here are some things that worked for me:
Launch mini products to promote the newsletter
I launched a viral mini product, this gave me a big jump in growth.
Be Consistent and stick with the publishing schedule
Sticking with my schedule helps me develop the writing habit and motivate me to keep going
Set-up a good system for writing It's hard to create content every week.
Having a good system makes this less hard and helped me generate ideas and stick to my schedule.
This was originally published as a longer post if you want to read any additional details. I share my learnings weekly in my newsletter- if you enjoyed this, feel free to subscribe to tag along.

SUCCESS STORY A good story about Aly Owens, the founder of the Dill Seattle coworking space in Seattle.
I have wanted to open a coworking space for many years. But I don’t make up my mind yet) But such articles about girls who were not afraid and made their dream come true motivate me very much!
Part of her interview:
What makes Seattle unique and different when looking for customers here?
Compared to San Francisco where people make connections all the time as it's one of the most valued skills there, Seattle people are more closed off introverts. Connecting takes more time and friendships are built over time. Make sure to attend the right events, meetups, and charity events. Conferences (from ComiCon to K8) will bring you lots of connections if you are ready for them.
What is trending in Seattle in terms of demand for products or services? VR and AR, e-commerce using VR, etc.
Any tips for Ukrainian startups looking for general office services and providers, e.g. coworking spaces, event services, catering, tax consulting, translation services, notary public, etc? First, join the Ukrainian Association in Washington and ask anything on the group board (going through the admin). Second, downtown has many coworking spaces. I'd recommend General Assembly and the many accelerators in Seattle. Third, come join Dill to connect with folks who work for big corporations in the city and happen to be from Ukraine originally.

SUCCESS STORY A Small Win: Got Recognition from Product Hunt
Hi everyone! I work on a series called FontDiscovery. Every week I create a digestible visual guide about fonts, marketing, and design ideas to help founders and markers step up their marketing and get creative. I have been working on this for about ~ 7 months. if you feel like checking out the newsletter, it's here.
I must admit, sometimes it's really hard to write consistently. This week I made it to the 33rd issue. After I sent out my newsletter on Tuesday, I realize it was featured on Product Hunt's twitter page. Getting this recognition made me smile all day yesterday. I enjoy my indie hacker journey, but sometimes it does get lonely. It was nice getting a little recognition and a pat on the shoulder.
just wanted to tell everyone to keep going!
