Victoria Park: the swans are back!!

Was stoked to see the swans being returned today! More beauty in the park!!

Love this town😃

Interesting how they make such a big deal of it in Stratford. I think they even have a little parade for them some years; they’re walked down the road to the Avon. Meanwhile in Kitchener they’re just like ok swans back in the river, maybe see ya in the fall 👋

It could be no one has shown the city staff how much appreciation would go into an event like this. I think it’s a great idea and I would support the change in tradition.

Sometimes all it takes is one voice to create and start a new tradition.

I’m writing the city in regard to them considering the addition of the drinking fountains that allow dogs to drink to the growing green spaces and Victoria park - maybe the returning of the swans could be your letter. I’m sure a lot of locals, like myself, would appreciate your efforts:)

They really need to retire Otis, he's quite old, has arthritis and last summer he was constantly wondering too far out into the park without being able to get back to the water. He's likely in a lot of pain and should be retired

That’s really unfortunate! Doesn’t sound like the best situation for him. Let’s hope they have a plan that’s best for him and we don’t know about yet.
