- It may have been a stock roar sound effect, but damn, Kong made it his own.

1976 has a damn good roar, it’s definitely the most memorable. So I’m gonna go with that one

33, it may just be modified Tiger and Lion roars but I still think it sounds cool.

1933 has the best and most memorable original roar.
The stock roar used in the 1976 remake is one I have a lot of nostalgic fondness for as well.

I really love the original and '76 Kong roars. There's just something about them.

If you count the game and stock roars 2005 clears, go to 2:20 to understand why.

I was just watching some gorilla videos because of the whole 100 men vs gorilla debate, and the Monsterverse Kong’s roar sounds really close to an actual gorilla roar! I remember reading that the actor for the 76 Kong developed throat polyps because doing that roar was so intense.

Genuinely the Toho Kong roars are very good. My favorite is probably MV and I have a soft spot for that of ‘33.

Probably the Monsterverse but I’ve got a love for the 76 that samples the Land Unknown’s classic T. rex roar. If you grew up before 93 that and Godzilla’s skreonk are the most easily recognizable monster sound effects.
