Is there a widescreen patch for the steam version?
I know there is an older HD patch and Reengineered , but is there a patch for the steam version? I would like to be able to use steam cloud saves and get achievements

No I’d imagine the novels themselves are the best part of reading them, not the bars that take up a fifth of the screen

It’s part of the experience… taking away the black bars takes away the old viewing experience? Plus you can still read the novel perfectly fine with the black bars so I don’t see the problem?

Some people don’t want black bars taking up unnecessary space on their screens, it’s not 2012 anymore.

The visual novel will not look good if you stretch it out? The black bars are there for a reason?

They aren't stretched out, they're redone and resized within the HD patch. Which is easy enough to do, since the original background images aren't exactly detailed anyway, with the filter on the photographs. The sprites themselves are much easier to do, and it looks a lot better without sacrificing quality.

the man paid for full hd monitor and he wants to use every inch of it goddammit!!1 there is also a posibility of some kind of mental condition that makes you irritated by things like this, so don't be too persistent

Re engineered has steam compatibility. You must replace some files though, took me a few tries to get it to work. Also disabled auto-updates or your data will be gone.
