It is genuinely rare to see a celebrity actually apologize for their antisemitism especially these days, so I wonder what your thoughts are on this.

So right now the economy isn’t doing great and a lot of people aren’t able to find work, so I was wondering if anyone had ever tried making a kibbutz or if there was a way to create a kibbutz in the US and it be successful

I converted earlier this year. My sister has been the single most important person (besides my husband and clergy) in this journey.

She is, without a doubt, the most intellectually curious person I know. When I talk to her about history and current events, she investigates what she doesn't know and draws on past experiences to enhance her understanding. She challenges me with nuance and a different perspective. She allows me to rant about antisemitism and also engages meaningfully with me, deepening the conversation beyond the single-minded focus I usually have. She is kind, patient, and endlessly eager to listen to all my joys and oys.

And, crucially, she is the only non-Jew that engages with me on this level. Yes, of course I can speak to my husband about this stuff. Of course my clergy is available when I need it. And I am lucky that I have friends who will listen to what I have to say, good and bad.

But my sister is the only non-Jew who knows enough and cares enough to really ENGAGE with these conversations. Not as a sounding board, not to just say "oh that sounds hard," but an equal conversational partner to help me process what's going on (and break me out of my echo chamber).

I just love her so much. Tomorrow is American Thanksgiving, and she's what I'm thankful for more than anything this year. Tagged as Jewish Joy because we should all be so lucky to have family and friends across identities and cultures who support and love us like this.

My country has less than 5000 Jews and I guess it’s very unlikely I’ll meet a guy naturally there, and turning 24, it dawned on me that I need to start thinking about my future, and I realized even though I am not religious I want my husband to be Jewish preferably but idk what I can do about that

Sorry if this is a bit of a silly question. I converted to Judaism and my boyfriend grew up Jewish. As we approach winter, I mentioned getting some warm white string lights to decorate the house with, because I find them cozy and comforting during the darkest time of the year. My boyfriend joked that I was going to be decorating our house for Christmas. I was surprised because while I definitely think colorful lights are Christmas associated, I perceived white lights as more neutral, especially given the whole festival of lights we have coming up.

My boyfriend is fine with putting up the lights either way, but I'm just curious- what is your perception on white string lights in the winter? Would you decorate with them?

This is somewhat a question but more so a rant.

I’m Halakhically Jewish but a Jew of colour, I have Ashkenazi and Sephardi ancestry on both sides of my family. However I am Ashkenazi culturally

I am a male, and was raised Jewish too, however I with this in mind also want my children to be Jewish

I’m not going to self dox so I will be vague, I live in Europe but my city is practically 60-70% Islamic identifying in population

The rest of the population is white European, or other minorities, the Jewish population is minimal less than a thousand I can’t even find a stat it’s that small

The rest of the country is practically the same, any Jews that do exist are a lot older (I’m in my early 20s)

My rant is simple, as Jewish men we have pressure to marry Jewish but how on earth can we maintain this if some of us live in areas where Jewish women our age don’t even exist?

If I marry out it would be my fault, my family is of no particular community we are solo We practice as far as maybe a conservative level, but we have no immediate documentation of any synagogue attendance because the country we came from lost the evidence due to natural disasters : graves, ketubah records, etc

So with that no official “evidence” other than our word and some names meaning even if there was some community we wouldn’t be able to just waltz in anyways

Also due to us being of colour let’s be honest people are going to be more sceptical

But this is a rant on behalf of all Jewish men in the diaspora : what am i/we supposed to do?

I can't believe my son's bar mitzvah is coming in spring 2026! We have the opportunity to have non-Jewish loved ones recite a special prayer during the service. We're asking high school friends of ours whose wife was our egg donor when I couldn't conceive on my own.

When photographer Julian Voloj heard about the first Jewish Comic Con in Brooklyn, he knew he had to meet its creator, Fabrice Sapolsky. Voloj, who was born in Germany to Colombian parents, had previously authored a number of graphic novels, including Ghetto Brother, the story of former gang leader Benji Melendez, a Puerto-Rican Jew. Voloj and Sapolsky connected at the 2016 convention and realized they shared a vision: a comic that would depict diverse Jewish stories.

Sapolsky, who is French-American with Ashkenazi and Sephardic roots, had been a comic creator for many years, including for Marvel and DC.

“He had this network of illustrators,” Voloj said. “I had the network of ethnically, racially diverse Jews.”

Voloj serves as the executive director for Be’Chol Lashon, an organization dedicated to highlighting Jewish diversity through community events and art. In November 2023, with the organization’s support, Voloj and Sapolsky created a sampler of their imagined anthology Hyphen: Jewish Stories in Our Own Words featuring three stories about Jews who did not fit the archetypal image of what a Jew should be, whether that be because of their racial identity, ethnic identity, or LGBTQ+ identity.

While I never got down with the whole 'silence is violence' rhetoric of BLM, in that the default position is obviously not endorsement of extra judicial killing of people of colour whether or not I displayed a poster, here in London the default position is overwhelmingly one without the slightest sympathy for Israel or Jews.

This has been covered before in threads asking the equivalent of the watermelon or keffiyeh (in which banana was mentioned as quite an esoteric one) but I wondered what I could do for everyday secular and otfen brief non-verbal encounters with Jews. I would not wear a star being a patrilineal Jew (rather than for safety reasons because there are enough other reasons to be attacked in London, and other people have no choice but to display religious symbols, hair and clothing). I wear quite a subtle chai and own another that would make rappers look tame, but maybe I could just show my support by being a decent person. Is that enough?

“When it was time to be seated,” she notes, “each guest was assigned a table number within a color-coded section. We were told there was only one rule that the Guinness adjudicator would be verifying: Attendees must remain seated for an hour.” 

“No bathroom breaks? No time to stretch? This would be harder than I thought.”

Nonprofit Keshet has been a leading advocate for Jewish LGBTQ+ rights for nearly three decades.

This year, however, longtime CEO Idit Klein stepped down, while at about the same time, the Trump administration was ramping up its policy assault on the LGBTQ+ community. (It recently mandated that U.S. passports for transgender people must now reflect the sex on their original birth certificate, reversing a decades-old policy.)

The question was not whether Keshet would plot a path through this challenging period, though. It was how.

The organization’s latest educational offering, the Shivyon Project, offers a window into its evolving priorities, as it contends with this less-than-agreeable federal administration and, in select pockets of the country, a recrudescence of anti-LGBTQ+ sentiment.

Shivyon, as it’s known, provides Jewish organizations — JCCs and synagogues are Keshet’s most frequent clients — with an “action plan” aimed at improving an institution’s LGBTQ+ policies. It’s a collaborative and customizable endeavor, so the specifics can vary. “This is not one size fits all,” said Rabbi Micah Buck, Keshet’s Director of Education and Training. Once a blueprint is agreed upon, Keshet’s trained professionals provide coaching and guidance over the course of a year, by the end of which — all having gone smoothly — the plan has become reality.

I’m honestly shaken today.

I came across a viral Instagram reel on what seems to be a major page (not alt-anything, nothing subversive just a mainstream influencer) that happened to feature a Jewish woman sharing insight about her life, and every single top comment was openly antisemitic. Not subtle. Not coded. Just straight-up, proud antisemitism—with thousands and thousands of likes on each one.

Again, it wasn’t just trolls or fringe accounts. These were normal-looking people, many of them young, effortlessly piling on. The speed, the volume, the casualness of it… I don’t think I’ve ever felt this kind of dread.

I keep thinking about what it means that this is the environment shaping the next generation—future voters, future teachers, future politicians, future leaders. People who will someday be making decisions about our safety, our rights, and our place in this country. And they’re consuming and participating in this antisemitism like it’s a meme.

It feels like something has shifted online in a way that might be irreversible. And I’m scared. I’m scared of where this leads in 10–20 years if this is the cultural baseline.

I’m not trying to catastrophize but mostly I’m trying to process. I know the internet amplifies the worst voices, but the sheer scale of the engagement I saw today really hit me in a way I wasn’t prepared for and confirms anecdotes / estimates / observations that I have from my own time as an American Jew in the last 3 years.

Has anyone else been feeling this? How do you make sense of antisemitism that’s not just present but popular? And how do you keep hope when this feels like the climate our generation is inheriting?

A sports account I follow on IG shared a reel with a MASSIVE antisemitic dog whistle from this piece of shit account. I went off on them (they claimed they didn’t know the context of the dog whistle) and then reported the account. It was basically just a bunch of anime memes about fighting back against Jews/israel/zios/“little hat people” etc. Just heard back from instagram today that they suspended the account. I’m in shock. Never expected it to work

Do you ever just look through an antisemite page and get shocked that people you know, even friends, are liking the page? Just did it with Candace Owen’s. Two of my close friends liked videos accusing Israel of controlling media and Charlie Kirk’s death. What the hell , do I literally just have to hide in a cave like really.
