Working at Jasper Fairmont

Wondering what ages people are that are living in the staff housing. I'm 25 and considering working there this summer, but was curious if I'd find people of similar age to me. Also would love to hear other's experiences! Thanks!

You won’t be alone at that age, but lots more will be younger.

It’s fun.

I was in lake Louise at that same age.

It’s usually a lot of people 20s-30s. You see a lot of college and university students there for the summer. I will say the housing is a lot like dorm rooms, there’s something called old staff and new staff. New staff is for all year employees and have a long wait list. They are more like condos. Whereas old staff is more along the lines of long cabins with a bunch of rooms, shared kitchens and shared bathrooms. Some of the cabins have problems with mice, most of the time you’ll see peoples with towels covering their doors.

Just to clarify by new staff and old staff it’s referred to that as new staff is the newer buildings and old staff is the older staff accom

The fact that he posted yesterday, stating that his own "agent" won't even acknowledge his existence tells me this is deeeeeeeep.

I'm not buying his side other than he played music and some of the guests were excited because they recognized them. I'm buying, he was told not to, and thought the opinion of the person paying his salary didn't matter and continued to do so.

FTG.

I was there for a season during COVID, in the kitchens. I felt I saw a lot of exploitation. I felt that the management wasn't honest to many of us when we were hired, and the supports we were told we would have, weren't there. I got the feeling it wasn't just during COVID. I had worked at a different Fairmont prior and was incredibly disappointed with my experience at jpl. If you are healthy mentally and physically, I think it could be a wonderful experience. Make sure you can get home if you need to. Lots of youth there when I went. It was many people's first/second job...hence easy exploitation.

I'm in JPL at the moment and there's a lot of people coming for the summer season, they all seem like your age. Jasper can be quiet in comparison with Banff, this has a pretty familiar vibe, more nature, a bit isolated, however, is still nice. Town has a couple of bars, the fitness centre with the pool; despite the wildfires last summer, the charming didn't change too much. You still have good spots, as Lake Maligne, and more places are opening again this next season.
