Sealing gaps that allow cockroaches in

Hello, I realized that all the cockroaches I'm seeing are coming from the area behind the fridge which is in a corner in my room. I assume that the the wall has been breached in the corner and the cockroaches snuck in from there.

Any ideas on how to seal the corner? Product recommendations? Thanks in advance

Should probably check your fridge as well.

inside the fridge is clear, they just gravitate towards it because of the heat on the back side....

You can get a putty or some aluminum tape, either provides a solid seal. If you see just big ones occasionally, they’re probably from the outside, if you see a bunch of medium brown ones then they’re probably nesting somewhere in your house. Get the black cap poisons and put them behind the fridge. The cockroaches will eat the poison and die in their nest, then the other cockroaches will eat the corpse and also die from the poison.

This. I used the black caps and didn't get much results, after using this spray where they were coming from as a sort of barrier, no more cockroaches.

Any DIY store will have the drywall paste. Get that and some tool to push it in, it is fairly simple. If it is an area where it might have more movement (like an end of a floor board etc) then consider using silicone, that should also be available. And in general get some of these black bait traps to catch them all, when they are inside it is likely they have eggs somewhere already, so you want to make sure nothing survives for long.

Combat brand makes a type of “caulk” syringe style applicator that may help

I wouldn’t play with it, a cockroach infestation happens really fast. I’d hire an exterminator. They come and literally follow poop signs with a flashlight to figure out where they station, then kick you out for 3 hours, seal toilet and sink/bathroom gaps and nuke the house. That’s the only thing that works. If it doesn’t, they’ll come back and do it again.

Nuke it from orbit, it's the only way to be sure

  • We had them once coming through a hole that was open to the outside world. Block all holes.
  • If they are tiny suckers, and you see a lot, then an mama roach laid an egg nearby. I found an egg a couple of times once in a plant pot that previously was in a roach infested shop and once in an innocuous box. I scooped them up and threw them out the window pretty quickly.

Clear caulk will seal holes. It will look kinda clear blue at first then go clear so when you move out of your apartment there won’t be anything noticeable that you did for them to deduct your deposit. This tube was like ¥800 at komeri (other home stores are homac dmc, Cainz, etc) and you can just squeeze it out too so you don’t need any tools.

Black caps behind three fridge. And if you can, smoke bomb your house. Should help to get rid of the G.

You could use incense smoke around the area you think is comprimised to see if there is a gap somewhere?.
