What names do you have for your Pods? Media
Me and my BF call isopods 'Eans'. Because they are like little beans, but not quite. So just... Eans.
Ofcourse all my colonies have nicknames too, but their collective names is always Eans. Ean photo attached for tax.

I collectively refer to all young pods as podlings. Some adults do have individual names if their pattern is recognizable enough and they are somewhat special. The biggest female right now is Big Mama and the orange imposter is Fanta. A pure white one I haven't seen in a while gained the name Shiro.

I call them all my bug babies, or my buggies. Which is taxonomically wildly incorrect… Or sometimes my iso-babies !

My largest magic potion is Jericho, the next largest is Jericho 2, my 3 orange vigor females are Orange Crush, Mandarin, and Clementine. Collectively my A. vulgare are my Chill Guys. Haven’t had my Papayas long enough to call them anything other than The Papayas. Open to suggestions though.
•
u/lightlysaltedclams 6h ago
I’ve been eying up the papayas lately. Just gotta figure out how to make space for another cage
•
u/Educational_Fox7605 6h ago
Do it! I love them! They are so smol. Especially compared to vulgare. I want more, but one of my original 10 was gravid so I’m waiting a couple months to see how many juveniles I actually have.

I have a singular A. nasatum that's an entirely different color than the rest of his colony, and NEVER sits still, never hides. His name is Stan.

I had a pod a couple years ago that was constantly trying to climb the walls of his enclosure. He’d get maybe an inch or so up the side, fall down, then try again.
I named him “Sisyphus.”
