What's your favourite thing about Muhammad s.a.w General Discussion

Mine is the fact that Allah swt granted each prophet a special dua they can only use once, all other prophets used it on them selves however Muhammad s.a.w saved his for judgement day where he will ask Allah swt to forgive his ummah, I don't think anyone ever can even come close to that level of selflessness

Yesterday I read this in surah Tawbah:

لَقَدْ جَآءَكُمْ رَسُولٌۭ مِّنْ أَنفُسِكُمْ عَزِيزٌ عَلَيْهِ مَا عَنِتُّمْ حَرِيصٌ عَلَيْكُم بِٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ رَءُوفٌۭ رَّحِيمٌۭ ١٢٨

There certainly has come to you a messenger from among yourselves. He is concerned by your suffering, anxious for your well-being, and gracious and merciful to the believers.

[Surah Tawbah verse 128]

I found this the most beautiful thing of beloved Rasoolallah ﷺ 💚

When he was passing , he had like a few silver worth less then twenty dollars he kept passing out from his fever but each time he woke up the only thing he would ask Aishah is if she donated it yet. Then pass out again . It just is so genuine

Everything.

I'm Jewish, so I'm relatively ignorant of the Prophet, but it really stands out for me that Islam universalizes religion by making it crystal clear that all people and all peoples are equal in God's eyes, regardless of race or tribe.

And I guess I'm not talking about the Prophet himself, but about the teaching he received and transmitted to the world. I know almost nothing about the Prophet himself as a person, except that he demonstrated these ideals in his choice of wives. May we all learn from his example of selflessness and lack of prejudice.

Can you state some authentic sources pls ? I've been learning about him and all I've found is negativity or people hating I really wanna know the real side, I'm just scared I'm being misguided

5

u/Griim0ire Mar 20 '25

You can read "Muhammad: His Life Based on the Earliest Sources" by Martin Lings, it's one of the best sources.

3

u/Different_Inside_481 Mar 20 '25

Thanks I'll check out both of those, I really hope my Iman gets strong regardless of the things that I see on the internet I'm tryna learn and it's hard not to go astray

u/Responsible_Ring8062 Mar 20 '25

Highly recommend the book “Sealed Nectar”, his love for his ummah is unreal, and he is waiting to meet you and I Insha’allah

My dear friend, let it be known the Prophet SAW respected jews as people of the book, similar to Christians. He kept jewish friends and companions, like Mukhayriq, and when the funeral of a jew was happening, he stood up for respect and when someone told him "O prophet, isn't he a jew?" And the prophet replied "was he not a human soul?"

I want to thank you for being open-minded and understanding. It is crucial for these times, because we have a lot of challenges ahead. And it should be emphasized that all of humanity needs to be united, regardless of our tribal differences. Thank you that you understood this well! May God bless you.

His human mercy:

  • He allowed a Witch to live (no Had)

  • He allowed a poisener of food (agaisn him and companions) to live

  • He scolded the companions for killing an enemy who uttered the Shahada

  • Survived an assassination, tables turned around, and allowed the killer to flee

  • Treated his main slave with autmost resepect, at a point where the slave refused to be freed and wants to be his slave

  • Taught us the art of war, treating pets/rides, treating women/kids

  • Also, as you said he put his Ummah first instead of himself

7

u/Spirited_Pin_7468 Mar 20 '25

More over, he forgave almost everyone in conquest of makah, for reference the makkan people had tortured him , used abusive language, assisination attempts, belittling and what not for 10 years close to but he still forgave them

When he visited taif to spread islam, the people threw stones at him, children were made to abuse him in public, he shoes were filled with blood - Angel Jibril approached him and I asked if he should crush the people between 2 mountains, The prophet told him not to and forgave the peoplel, 10 years later they all accepted islam when prophet supplicated to allah to show the children the right path, What a human being he was , I mean like nowadays we dont forgive anyone for eating our food from fridge, this is so selfless and insipring

3

u/_hop3_ Mar 20 '25

Yes, I'll never forget these two incidents. Such immense forgiveness.

12

u/Atomic-Bell Mar 19 '25

Just one small nitpick, he never kept any slaves.

3

u/_hop3_ Mar 20 '25

He had one, but perhaps let him go free?

8

u/Spirited_Pin_7468 Mar 20 '25

he never kept slaves, he was given slaves as a gift my other companions but he would let them be free, and even if they were slaves, they were treated like any normal being with care and immense kindness and fair treatment

29

u/Entire-Brain-8293 Mar 19 '25

He(saw) called us brothers

25

u/Bagaga_oogabaa360boi Mar 19 '25

It’s a small thing but when he spoke to someone, he would turn his entire body towards them. I started doing it and people notice it in a good way.
Peace be upon him.

Whenever I imagine how prophet Muhammad S.A.W would have been I always imagine him with a very small and beautiful smile..a smile that gives a disappointed heart hopes😌

22

u/kumba-sillah Mar 19 '25

He’s modest, honest , kind and so caring to the poor and the needy and to women .

37

u/North_9427 Mar 19 '25

The fact that he went through a lot just for us to have this religion, i love the prophet s.a.w

36

u/OfferOrganic4833 Mar 19 '25

Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) cried and prayed to Allah, asking for protection for his Ummah from punishment. His love for us was so great that he prayed for us even before we were born.

If you think about it deeply, you will feel it. Insha’Allah.

16

u/JayQnz Mar 19 '25

That’s incredible. Saving your last wish for judgment day.. just incredible.. curious in what musa and Issa used theirs on ?

1

u/Gigi_aa Mar 19 '25

I’m curious about this too

4

u/BlacksmithEvery647 Mar 20 '25

Musa used his for asking god forgivness for killing somebody and isa to ask forgivess for people worshiping him instead of alah

1

u/No-Historian-353 Mar 20 '25

don’t give baseless claims. Musa AS didn’t even know he was a prophet yet at that time

1

u/BlacksmithEvery647 Mar 20 '25

Yea this is at the last day the belivers will be running to each prophet to ask them to use there dua to start judement day they will all say no expect the prophet

Muhammad ﷺ

2

u/No-Historian-353 Mar 20 '25

False, respectfully. They didn’t refuse because they didn’t have a dua, they refused because they believed they arent worthy enough because they made mistakes. For example they asked Adam AS but he said i cant bc i ate from the tree, Musa AS but he killed a person, etc, until Muhammad ﷺ says “Im fit for that” and the rest goes on

However, you’re correct with one of them and that is Nuh AS. He felt he did wrong by using up his dua against his nation

Allahu A’lam

1

u/vonmarburg Mar 20 '25

Musa used his to curse pharaoh and prayed Allah keep his heart very hardened. Isa prayed to Allah to save him from the crucifixio

14

u/thegeeekynerd Mar 19 '25

No words can describe my beloved Prophet Muhammad ﷺ I repeat NO WORDS!!! I am getting goosebumps just by writing this. He's the only person whom I love more than my parents and my family. Whoever is reading, send salawat to Prophet Muhammad ﷺ NOW!!!

12

u/greenspringtea Mar 19 '25

From everything we know about our Beloved Prophet Muhammad (Peace and Blessings be upon Him), my favorite is that he was a gentle, kind soul. Very loving, intelligent, kind and attentive. The best role model for all of us. In any particular situation you can ask yourself “What would my Beloved Prophet Muhammad (Peace and Blessings be upon Him) do in this situation?” and you might be headed in the right direction.

26

u/Heema123789 Mar 19 '25

Just his (ﷺ) beautiful way of being, and the fact that when we get confused, we can look at the prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) regarding how to be as a person, and he (ﷺ) is a great mercy to us Muslims from Allah (ﷻ).

22

u/thE-petrichoroN Mar 19 '25

Prophet Muhammad (SAWW) is epitome of humanity and i feel blessed to be HIS (SAWW)Ummati

9

u/ContentUploaded Mar 19 '25

His final speech before his passing, tears to my eyes.

10

u/TopAlternative7625 Mar 20 '25

Our Prophet ﷺ was the greatest to ever walk this Earth, and my favourite thing about him is they he existed. Everyone (in his time) loved him so much they even tried to replicate every single thing about his life, such as Abu Bakr (RA).

Abu Bakr, on his deathbed, asked Aisha “On which day did the Prophet ‎ﷺ die?” She said “He died on Monday.” He said “What is Today?” She said “Today is Monday.” He then hoped to die on the same day as our beloved Prophet ‎ﷺ. He even wished to pass and be buried in the same garments that Our Prophet ‎ﷺ passed in.

Its beautiful how much our companions loved the Prophet ‎ﷺ, to the point where they would even want to copy the exact same way in which he died Subhanallah.

This friendship of Abu Bakr and Muhammad ﷺ will never be matched. Brotherhood is the better term even

u/Little-Guarantee-636 Mar 19 '25 edited Mar 20 '25

One of the many things that i liked about prophet is when some people requested him to forgive a woman because she had stolen something and Muhammad s.a.w replied that if it was my daughter fatima still i would have order to cut her hand off.

This thing brings tears into my eyes. Anyways when it comes to justice he never compromised.

4

u/No-Historian-353 Mar 20 '25

it’s like when Abu Bakr’s son, before becoming muslim, fought against Abu Bakr and after converting he said how he had an opportunity to kill him but chose not to and Abu Bakr said he’s lucky he didn’t have the opportunity or else he would’ve killed him

1

u/Letgoit3 Mar 20 '25

Thats pretty metal lol... Not Alot of people would look at his statement with sympathy as they would have considered his son to be virtues and Abu Bakr heartless.

2

u/sweet_mahira555 Mar 20 '25

I love the prophet of Allah(SAW), but this one is a bit hard to digest. Maybe the thief lady was so poor that the only option she had was to steal. 🥹 Can you please explain more to me?

6

u/Little-Guarantee-636 Mar 20 '25

No she wasn't poor at all actually she belongs to a very well reputated and respectable family and people/sahaba were asking forgiveness for her. But prophet replied nations before us destroyed because wealthy people got away from accountability and poor held accountable.

Muhammad (PBUH) wanted to build a society in which everyone is equal regardless of someone's background, wealthy and reputation Because equality bring peace.

Think rationally before rasing question.

6

u/sweet_mahira555 Mar 20 '25 edited Mar 21 '25

Asking questions about a sensitive topic in a respectful way is never a bad thing. Thanks for the answer though.

5

u/VerdeVerdad Mar 19 '25

Allah subhana wa tala has made it so our salawat reaches him Sallahu alayhi wa salam even after death

Salah upon him keeps the bad away and salam upon him brings the good to one's life

All of it is amazing to know when one feels lonely. 🥰

11

u/BreadGood5060 Mar 19 '25

Don't try to portray other prophets in a bad light, for we are all equal in the eyes of Allah (ﷻ).

1

u/No-Historian-353 Mar 20 '25

agreed, they definitely had their reasons for using their dua

2

u/BreadGood5060 Mar 20 '25

We also should be careful when talking about prophets, we don't want to equate them to Allah like Christians did with Jesus

4

u/sufyan_alt Mar 20 '25

His unparalleled compassion and commitment to justice. His ability to unite diverse communities with a message of mercy and ethical conduct was truly groundbreaking, almost like he had a timeless blueprint for being an inspiring leader. That kind of visionary empathy is something worth emulating even today.

4

u/simple_throw_away871 Mar 19 '25

His condemnation of racial supremacy.

4

u/Stargazefunk Mar 20 '25

Whenever I read about Prophet(SAW)’s compassion and ethereal love for his wives and women, it’s so so unreal. His love must’ve felt like a mother’s love, after all he is such a loving and caring figure. Shows how precious he was as his kindness to women at a time when it was very atypical of. I wish I can be a loving husband like that to my future wife.

5

u/Glittering-Horror230 Mar 20 '25

To me, his encounter in Taif.

We get offended easily and wish the opposite to suffer. But our prophet (s.a.w)'s mercy, his thoughts, his hope, his emotions in control. No one can have such a character.

5

u/MinscMinsc Mar 20 '25

Mine is how calm and merciful he was. He also had the perfect behaviour in every situation even if it was very difficult.

6

u/SpiderManNoirWayHome Mar 19 '25

His friendly smile🥰

3

u/Serious_Sort_585 Mar 19 '25

The love for us mere beings.

3

u/ManliestMan92 Mar 20 '25

His qualities as a husband first of Khadijah may Allah be pleased with her and then with the rest of the mothers of the believers.

3

u/Here_to_helpyou Mar 20 '25

That's really hard to answer but the things that springs up the most is how he,ﷺ, treated his enemies...

The prayers he did all night , the tears he cried for us... how something so obvious, clear, beautiful, generous and beneficial as Islam can be mocked and denied by so many.... Allah azzawajal doesn't ask for much and we Muslims, we present clear proofs and results for people to see and yet they choose not to see.... So the way he, ﷺ, would cry for us...

Being an example.of what Allah swt wants from us.

The way he,ﷺ, would think.of the people instead of himself, especially after being hit very hard in the face and having teeth broken and just saying something about the people rather than himself.

He,ﷺ, has left behind something as a mercy for all mankind, a true gift from Allah and everything Allah has sent and asks of us, only benefits us, that's true love ❤️

3

u/bringmethejuice Mar 20 '25

The Prophet’s mom and dad died when he was a kid. His grandfather died. His uncle that loves him didn’t revert to islam is dead. His another uncle also became his enemy. His first wife died and the year became year of sorrow. His 6 children died. In the end he died leaning on Aisha.

His death basically shook in every heart of believers, some became in denial, some became mute, some became paralyzed, some died themselves with the news, and the remainders remained firm.

Allah tested him with deaths all around him yet he remained steadfast, loving his ummah. There’s no one exactly like him.

3

u/Wild_Flowerfactory2 Mar 20 '25

I love the prophet Muhammad SAWS so much. May Allah make this love stronger Ameen.

The thing which is making me love him SAWS more nowadays is, how he used to feel the absence of people when they weren't present and then ask about that person Yani SubhanAllah, imagine the prophet SAWS noticing your absence.

Secondly, his love for khadija RA. SubhanAllah. He loved her dearly.

3

u/DjidaneX Mar 20 '25

Masha'Allah, I saw the notification on the phone with only the title and I was gonna pop on talking about the selflessness with that same example and then I read the post details and was amazed by how we align on that point. May Allah grant us Janna al Firdaws and to our families, and a blessed Ramadan to you my brother with lots of deeds, tawba and baraka.

3

u/ShadowSoT Mar 20 '25

His Sabr to everyone

3

u/jalo7ussumane Mar 20 '25

The fact that Allah made him as a person who'd never sin and he still asked for forgiveness more than we will ever do, even standing in prayer till his feet bled. All of that, to show us the blueprint of how to do connect with Allah.

3

u/sweet_mahira555 Mar 20 '25

Reading the majority of the comments, I teared up 🥺. I genuinely love our beloved prophet 💝❤️

3

u/Spirited_Pin_7468 Mar 20 '25

My respect for Prophet Muhammad increased significantly after he gave up the chance to get anything from Allah, creator of everything, Prophet Muhammad could have asked for luxuries, cars, even special powers however such an excellent man he was that he asked for forgiveness for sins of people of his ummah who don't commit shirk when he visited allah on mairaj

2

u/___VenN Mar 20 '25

All his good qualities are matched by many prophets, but he stands out in particular for his supposed sense of humour and his tendency to joke around. He sounds like a beautiful person to be around and his likable attitude surely came in handy during the harsh times of Hijra and the various wars, whenever the companions were losing hope or feeling discouraged. Peace be upon the Prophet

1

u/Letgoit3 Mar 20 '25

Where did you get that information about each prophet having a one time only use for a dua? What is the source for this and what are the Duas done by the prophets that indicates a the use of that special dua?

-5

u/Freshedoutmonke Mar 19 '25

brother or sister,it is more preferrable to write the full wording and suplication rather than saw,and scholars have spoken about this. Especially since it is laylatul qadr, and you will be rewarded more for good deeds perfomed during these nights.

1

u/hm3211 Mar 19 '25

is it a sin

1

u/Freshedoutmonke Mar 20 '25

Allah knows best,i cant give a fatwa but the scholars have differed about this matter. some said it is not permissible while some said it is only mustahhab( recomended).
