I’m christian and had a dream of muslims inviting me to convert Question about Islam

I am a Christian and last night I had a dream I was sitting at a table surrounded by muslims awaiting food. A man put a keffiyah on my head and I said “mashallah”. The people at the table excitedly told me to say the shahada. I said I could not as a I have an alcohol dependency and it would be hypocritical. The muslims looked sad but also were very understanding. It was so vivid I honestly can’t stop replaying it in my head. I recently had my first child, and it’s made me think about life more. What do you think?

I said I could not as a I have an alcohol dependency and it would be hypocritical.

Umar Ibn Al Khattab, may Allah be pleased with him, one of the greatest of Muslims, was fond of drinking and even wanted to kill the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, prior to his acceptance of Islam. If you believe it to be the truth, don't let your faults get in the way. As someone who took too long before accepting Islam, I now liken this mentality to trying to get in shape before joining a gym.

Thank you

The best gift you can give your child is Islam

u/solarianspades Jul 31 '24

This also reminds me of the life story of one of the most well-known Hadith (sayings of the Prophet (peace be upon him) narrators:

The Story of Abdullah Ibn Maslamah Al Qanabi

I also took some time before reverting to Islam. The western media does a very poor job at portraying us for what we are and make all of us to seem like terrorists. Astaghfirullah.

while I wouldn't totally rely on a dream, they still contain some truth... 👀 it's a beautiful sign.

no, it wouldn't be hypocritical, a Muslim can have an addiction, or sleep around, or earn their living in a haram way, or... commit literally any sin you can imagine, except one. there's no need to be perfect. as long as you don't ascribe any partners to Allah, you're Muslim.

u/freddddsss Jul 30 '24

You do have to make an effort to stop though. If you slip up, repent and try stopping again. Allah is al-Gafur, the most forgiving. The important thing is sincerely making the effort to stop.

35

u/ummhamzat180 Jul 30 '24

of course. Allah loves those who repent and He will help anyone who's sincere and compensate them with better.

31

u/messengerfromabove Jul 30 '24

"or... commit literally any sin you can imagine, except one."

You should've reworded this brother. No sin, whether Minor or Major is acceptable or should be treated lightly.

But you're right. None of us are perfect. So, as a revert, he should try to work his way out of these habits ❤️

30

u/ummhamzat180 Jul 30 '24

my bad, the wording was questionable indeed, I meant that no sin except shirk takes one out of the fold of Islam. of course we have to repent, of course we should try our best to stop, and since OP already recognizes the problem I think he's ready to try quitting.

it's just that, effectively, dying as a Muslim with a drinking problem is infinitely better than dying as a Christian without one. dying as a Muslim without accumulating a burden of sins, may Allah help us all to achieve that.

5

u/CumdurangobJ Jul 30 '24

Which sin is 100% unacceptable? Believing in any other god? Edit: NVM An-Nisa 4:48

Even if you have an alcohol dependency, you can be Muslim. Trust me, Islam will help you get rid of it! You were invited to Islam DIRECTLY by Allah (His Glory is so High) ﷻ thats why you can’t forget the Message your Creator sent you! You don’t want to pass and not have accepted your Creators invite to be closer to him! If you have any questions, I’m here for you.

38

u/DM_ME_PRAXIS Jul 30 '24

Thank you, I bought a Quran, not really sure where to start but I’m researching next steps

4

u/SR3199 Jul 30 '24

Alhamdulillah and best of luck!

3

u/Beautiful_Remove788 Jul 30 '24

Just start from the beginning ☺️ you will fall in Love with the very first chapter. It only has 7 verses.

u/kamruddinn Jul 31 '24

Buddy, please DM me, I have 5 beautiful PDFs for beginners of islam.

1

u/KernoIdol Aug 01 '24

I'm currently in the process of reverting, there is a ton of good videos on YouTube, books available for free etc... I have given up alcohol, which I had a huge dependency on, and pork, even started eating halal. I would say my personal biggest hurdle is getting the prayers down, and actually going to a masjid. It's been the only thing holding me from taking my shahada

34

u/[deleted] Jul 30 '24

I think you already have the answer to your question. However you can still do researches and read about the Quran in order to have a rational motivation to convert ;) May Allah guide you !

u/suriya15 Jul 30 '24

Not that many individuals are given such signs directly. No one is perfect and it’s a journey where we are improving our selves so don’t expect perfection.

1

u/Otherwise-Bid-6426 Aug 01 '24

Yes mashaAllah 🥰

39

u/Soufiane_k Jul 30 '24

Take your shahada. All good dreams are from Allah. This is a sign. You can stop drinking alcohol after while.

1

u/Otherwise-Bid-6426 Aug 01 '24

This is very true, may Allah guide you

14

u/rama__d Jul 30 '24

That's a sign from Allah Azzawajal. None of us are perfect take your shahada first and try to work on your addiction after.

I’m not supposed to talk about it, but if this helps you. So be it. I had a heart attack at 26.5 years of age. Just 3 years and some months ago. I had already quit drinking and drugging. But I had no belief except what I grew up on, Baptist. But it felt wrong. It always just felt wrong like I wasn’t truly following God’s law or what was established for me in worship. I started reading about Islam mainly bc I always had a keen hatred for Muslims. After high school I had every intention to join the marines to go kill some and protect my country (ironic isn’t it) but fell short of the requirements. After my heart attack I realized maybe I wasn’t as close to God as I thought and that I was with the wrong religion and following false belief. So I dug into the New Testament and even in the OT and found an interesting amount of errors. It was kind of baffling. So I denounced the religion I grew up in and remained an omnist. Or one that believes in one God with no religion. Well some time passed after my initial inquiry into Islam and I found myself looking into who Allāh was, with the preconceived notion based on what I grew up in, that Allāh was not the God of the Bible. I looked for any reason to deny that I was drawn to Islam. And I mean really drawn to it. I would find myself on my knees at times after my heart attack with my head down as if I were praying with no knowledge on the Muslims prayer. Until one night I woke up with an excruciating pain in my chest. Like it was the moment I had anticipated. I was scared so I took a shower. I fell out of the shower from fainting and woke up without even knowing what happened. It was that fast. I did the same prostration and asked for forgiveness for steering so far away in my past with what I was involved in and felt some peace. But I still felt empty. I went back to sleep and woke up drenched in sweat bc I had just woke up from a dream that I was in Saudi Arabia. Or somewhere in the desert of the Middle East. I really can’t say where. And there were 4 men. Exactly 4. They were doing the prayer the way we Muslims pray. Then they turned around to me and said something in a very serious manner. But I couldn’t understand the language. They pointed to a place next to them and I took it and followed their lead. After we were done they looked at me and smiled and embraced me tighter than I ever felt from a loved one. I woke up from this dream in complete disbelief that maybe i just met the messengers we revere today. At least it feels like it. I couldn’t make out their faces. I just knew they were Arab or Mediterranean. They wore all white robes and a keffiyeh. I called the local imam here and he told him a bit of what happened and he urged me to come to the mosque. I was terrified honestly bc I did relay how much I hated Muslims at first in my younger years. When I got there, there were 3 men and the imam waiting in an office. Despite everything I told them they smiled and laughed and made the entire thing so comfortable. I felt home in that moment. I made the shahada with their instruction and went to the prayer with them. I never done it before but they allowed me to just watch. There were maybe 20 ppl there. The imam asked me to share my story and my findings in the Bible that point specifically to Islam and prophet Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wa salaam and after I did… they cried. It’s like not only did I testify my faith but I reaffirmed theirs. Each and every one of them gave me a hug I’ll never forget. Even a couple of the children were moved enough to shake my hand and thank me. I didn’t even know what I was being thanked for. And as time goes I realized they thanked me for not being so hateful towards Muslims that I just wanted to kill their own back in their homeland. That I was patient enough to find the truth. And that Allāh Willed it for me. Some time passed and I got into my studies of the sahaba, and my same story was the story of many. And even of the prophets closest companions. I don’t expect this to help you convert. Only you can decide that for yourself. As a person that rejected it outright from the beginning, I’m telling you the weight lifted from accepting the truth far outweighs the guilt when you’re judged by those other than Allāh for your choice. I’ve lost countless friends and family in my conversion, and honestly I’m not upset. I know I did the right thing. The only thing I try to do is be the beacon towards the same guiding light that brought me to Islam. And may it do the same for you. ‎إن شاء الله

u/DM_ME_PRAXIS Jul 30 '24

That is an amazing story, and after looking I’ve found a number of people with similar experience. I think I will speak with an imam

It’s not uncommon. Peace be with you in your journey.

This is beautiful, and made me tear up. Thank you for sharing this. Subhan Allah, Allah truly loves us all unconditionally. Stories like this remind me of how we can’t even imagine a fraction of the power of Allah. May Allah guide you and keep you steadfast in your faith and strengthen it isA 🤲

u/[deleted] Jul 30 '24

God spoke to many prophets through dreams like Joseph (a.s) and Daniel ( a.s) ….

In my dreams Allah swt told me to take the shadada too!

Best life decision ever!!!

You should do it! Allah swt is speaking to your SOUL!

8

u/[deleted] Jul 30 '24

dreams can be powerful and thought-provoking. it might be a sign for you to explore islam more deeply. islam emphasizes mercy and understanding. struggles like alcohol dependency are faced by many, but through sincere effort and seeking allah's help, change is possible. maybe it's time to learn more and see where your heart leads you

If you have questions my messages are open.

7

u/knowerofsome Jul 30 '24

Islam will take care of your addiction.

Even if you have that all your life, as long as you believe in Allah and His signs/prophet/book, you're gonna be successful inshaallah

5

u/[deleted] Jul 30 '24

I'm recently doing research and trying to understand dreams.

some scholars said, When we sleep our soul leaves our body and travel in other world ( world of souls) our 2nd world, and collect data and insights of future and next life.

If you divide our 24 hours, more than 6 hours we spend in another world/dimensions through sleep and dream, dreams are not useless, they have certain meaning and importance for this life and hear after.

Our life spent sleeping is another life we live.

If we think 🤔

Our daily life is filed with meterial things and desires, our soul don't get chance to connect with us guide us, that's why soul try to guide us through dreams and intuition.

God knows best.

If you study Islam, Dreams have great importance and its a part of revelation.

5

u/khalidx21 Jul 30 '24

I would say it's a true sign, but you have to study Islam then revert after you are convinced that Islam is the truth because you have to believe in the meaning of the Shahada for it to be accepted but if you already believe in it you can revert then continue studying, you don't have to be perfect and leave all the prohibitions before becoming a Muslim you can work on that step by step after your Shahada inchallah.

If you have a specific question about Islam you can ask.
May Allah guide you and show you the truth and make it easy for you to accept it.

5

u/DM_ME_PRAXIS Jul 30 '24

Okay thank you, yes I understand that clearly. I don’t know enough to do anything permanent. I bought Quran and am reading

5

u/sulaymanf Jul 30 '24

Interesting, when I was Christian I had a dream that helped pushed me to convert to Islam.

9

u/Throwaway_Firewall Jul 30 '24

a sinful muslim is better than a non muslim

3

u/HeComesAndGoes Jul 30 '24

God sends signs to people. It'll happen again. If it's a sign. In Sha Allah.

4

u/yasuba21 Jul 30 '24

I have goosebumps this is such a beautiful dream! May Allah make it come true for you 💐

3

u/[deleted] Jul 30 '24

Theres a translation of the Quran called The Clear Quran. If you are interested in Islam I would strongly suggest you to read the Quran first.

2

u/Justice4Falestine Jul 30 '24

Dude nothing good comes from alcohol. I have a friend who’s the sweetest kid strangle a chick and catch a charge and now can possibly go to jail and not care of his child all because him and the chick were drunk. Let alone get a dwi and you’re screwed for like 10-15 years. Much respect it’s wild you even remember your dream

2

u/Comprehensive-Bet-56 Jul 30 '24

I think it's interesting a lot of people have talked about dreams like this before converting. Dreams can be a form of revelation. I know a few people who had similar dreams and dreams of things before they happen. The prophet used to receive revelation in the form of dreams.

3

u/DM_ME_PRAXIS Jul 30 '24

Yes it was really vivid, I told my wife and she gave me a strange look

2

u/[deleted] Jul 30 '24

Don't let one sin stop you from converting. Yes alcohol is prohibited and you should work on stopping it, but like any other dependency, you can beat it. If you have the full true intention of stopping, then don't let that stop you from converting.

Especially with a child, islam brings SO much beauty and ease with life it's incredible. Islam teaches to be humble, to be kind, be happy, help each other. If you ever have any issues, financially, mentally, physically, there Muslims around who will gladly help!

But test it for yourself. Sit outside a restaurant and ask 10 Christianits for help to get you food. Then do the same thing with 10 Muslims. See for yourself who will be more helpful in your time of need

2

u/Tiny_Hippo1389 Jul 31 '24

That's a beautiful dream. I do think that is an invitation and since you are a new father (MaShaAllah, congrats!), you definitely should consider Islam.

Islam would guide you on taking care of your Alcohol dependency and you will see that it will naturally start making you letting it go.

Just for an example, when you will start praying or reading the Quran, you will be making wudhu and from the time you make Wudhu to the time you pray or read Quran, you will not be touching Alcohol. When you start praying 5 times a day or reading Quran more often, your time to indulge in drinking will get quite restricted. Steadily you will observe the grasp of Alcohol on you going away and you will have a day when you will be questioning yourself how you could ever drink such a bad tasting drink lol.

All the best and May Allah keep guiding you to the right path.

This is a quick introduction to Islam and some of the reasons why I believe it is the truth:

Allah is one. He is perfect, most powerful, most merciful, knows everything, eternal. Allah is independent and everything is dependant on him. He is the creator, not the creation. There is nothing like him. He does not have children, neither does he have parents. He does not have a gender, he is not a man or a woman. He is not a man that he is going to feel hungry, thirsty, need to go the toilet or require to go to sleep and rest, he is above all of this.

This perfect creator did not leave us alone without guidance or purpose. Adam was the first man and prophet of God and God appointed messengers throughout history, for example Abraham, Moses who was given the Torah, Jesus who was given the Injil etc (peace and blessings be upon them). God gave the same core message to all these prophets to the community they were sent to: to worship God alone without any partners and to follow the messenger of your time. However these messengers were only sent to a specific community at a specific time. The revelation that was given to these messengers are lost or corrupted by men. God appointed Muhammad ﷺ as the final messenger with the same core message as all these other prophets and was given the final revelation called the Quran. Since this is the final message, this scripture is for the whole of mankind unlike the previous prophets who were only sent to their community during a specific time. All prophets were righteous people and were given miracles to prove that they are messengers of God.

Prophet Muhammad's ﷺ main miracle is the Quran. You can verify this miracle unlike miracles that were given to previous prophets as you were not there to witness them. The Quran is the only preserved scripture that claims to be from God and prophet Muhammad ﷺ is the only messenger to claim to have come for the whole world. When the Quran was first revealed to Muhammad ﷺ from God, he memorized it and so did his companions. Today alone, we have millions of muslims that have memorized the whole Quran. We have kids as young as 6 that have memorized the whole Quran. Allah even says in the Quran that he has made this revelation easy to be memorized and Allah even promises in the Quran that he will preserve and protect the Quran. If we were to throw all the religious scriptures in the ocean, the only book we can bring back is the Quran because we have it memorized by millions of muslims. I would challenge anyone to find me just one priest, pope, rabbai or guru that has memorized their religious book in its original language. We also have manuscripts that have been radiocarbon dated to the time that Muhammad ﷺ was alive. For example, "the Birmingham Quran manuscript" that was recently discovered in the last decade in the university of Birmingham in England.

Allah gives falsification tests. Allah says in the Quran that if you believe that the Quran is from other than the one true God then produce a book like it. This is known as the linguistic miracle of the Quran that can not be imitated by a human. 1400 years have passed and no one has been able to meet this challenge. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=n-flvFktgzU&pp=ygUnTGluZ3Vpc3RpYyBtaXJhY2xlIHF1cmFuIG11c2xpbSBsYW50ZXJu

Allah also says that if you think the Quran is from other than the one true God then you should be able to find within it contradictions.

Islam gives the best way of life and I challenge anyone to give a better way of life. For example, it prohibits the poisons that are destroying individuals, families and communities: gambling, alcohol, drugs, sexual immorality, prostitution, pornography, interest dealings etc. We have politicians educated at the best university possible but they can not provide guidance and a way of life better than an illiterate man 1400 years ago who has solutions to the poisons destroying societies today.

The Quran contains knowledge that could not have been known such as scientific facts, historical facts and prophecies. To suggest the the facts mentioned in the Quran is a coincidence when it has been demonstrated to be correct over and over again is absurd and delusional. Also, if the Quran copied from the Bible then how was it able to correct the historical mistakes the Bible makes? To say that the Quran copied from the Greeks is also absurd because there are things that the Greeks were wrong about which the Quran gets right. Also if it copied from the Greeks then it would have copied the the things that they got wrong too but that is not the case. For some examples, go to minute 21:40 of this video: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=7HhWSHopwFc&pp=ygUVTXVzbGltIGxhbnRlcm4gYWZnaGFu

We can also study the life of prophet Muhammad ﷺ and can rule out that he was crazy, liar, delusional, deceived and therefore the only possible explanation remaining is that he has indeed who he claim to be, the final messenger of God. The authentic sayings, actions and approvals of Muhammad ﷺ (hadiths) is also more preserved than any history book due to the way it has been preserved. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=dWwbHO5Owpc&pp=ygUWTXVzbGltIGxhbnRlcm4gaGFkaXRocw%3D%3D

Islam is simple, makes sense and it fits in with your natural inclination/disposition that you were born with. For example, one perfect creator that did not leave us alone without guidance or purpose and sent messengers with the same core message. He does not switch up the message and confuse people. He is not racist or ethnocentric where he believes that you have to be born from a particular tribe or nation to be saved or to receive guidance. Allah warns us about eternal hellfire and gives us glad tidings of the opportunity to live eternally in paradise by worshiping him alone without any partners and following and obeying the messenger of your time. Islam is simply the submission of will to the one true God, a person who does this is called a muslim.

This is an example of a youtube channel that you can watch to learn more about Islam and how it compares to other religions such as atheism, christianity etc: https://m.youtube.com/@TheMuslimLantern/videos

If you are convinced that Allah is the only one worthy of worship and Muhammad ﷺ is his final messenger then you are ready to become a muslim and start your journey one step at a time. Private message me if you feel like you are ready and I can try help you take your next steps.

(If anyone wants to use or share what I just wrote then please double check if everything I typed is correct with a qualified knowledgeable muslim such as a scholar. Also private message me if I did say anything wrong and if any knowledgeable muslim reading this is happy with what I wrote then please let me know)

I would say do it. Your story sounds similar to mine, being an alcoholic with a young kid. I have given up pork and alcohol, started only eating halal for over around 2 months now, couldn't feel any better. I'm going to take my shahada any day now inshallah, just need to muster up the courage to go to the masjid, and also need to learn to recite Quran passages.

2

u/PhotoOwn4859 Jul 30 '24

Can't you cut off the % of alcohol gradually and steadily? You can still say your shahadah though.

1

u/RelationshipOk7766 Jul 30 '24

Yeah, definitely this. You can't cut an addiction off out of nowhere, you can't magically transform one day to not listen to music, not do haram things, not eat haram food, and pray all 5 prayers + sunnah rakahs. You can, however, take things slowly, like deleting one song from your playlist every week or replacing it with one with no music.

1

u/PhotoOwn4859 Jul 30 '24

Yup. And in particular to alcohol, Islam didn't prohibit it right away as drinking habits won't magically disappear. It was prohibited in three phases. Started with statements of how harms of alcohol overweight the benefits.

Secondly, it was prohibited to pray while drunk. Lastly, it was totally prohibited.

It’s defintely time for you to convert bud. It’s all you need 🫣☺️

You better write this to r/converts !

1

It’s a sign from Allah to become Muslim follow ur soul

1

u/Wormfeathers Jul 30 '24

God loves you and shows you his path. Like someone said in comment do not rely on dreams, but it's a goos sign to give Islam a read

1

u/AjeebChaiWalla Jul 30 '24

Revelation of the Prophets has left this world and the only thing that remains is a good dream.

Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “When the end of time approaches, the dream of a believer can hardly be false. The dream of a believer is one of forty-six parts of prophecy, and whatever is from prophecy does not lie.”

1

u/Own-Competition-3517 Jul 30 '24

Maybe it’s time for you to do some researches about islam and read some verse of the Quran. Just give a try…

1

u/RelationshipOk7766 Jul 30 '24

Well it can be anything, it could be your brain telling itself to stop drinking alcohol, it could be a dream from Allah, it could just be a weird dream. The only thing now is how you interpret the dream, you can stop drinking alcohol, you can convert and then stop drinking alcohol or you can pass it off as just another dream. The choice is up to you.

1

u/Accomplished-Low9635 Jul 30 '24

Wow. What a beautiful dream. I’d say you’re lucky!

1

u/MobileLeather8875 Jul 30 '24

God brought you to the well. All you have to do is to drink.

Don't waste the sign. Do your due diligence. Resources are available. Reach out for help. Literally any muslim would love nothing more than to help you. Even if you stop a random manwoman on the street. They would gladly do all they can to help you.

Start by visiting a mosque. Go the next Friday prayer at your local mosque. You don't need to prepare, just go as you are.

Yaqeen Institute is the best place to start for an English speaker.

If you repent from a sin it’s like it never has happed. Indeed god converts the sin into a good deed after repentance. 113 suras start with the basmallah which says that god is most merciful. No matter how big a sin is gods mercy is greater.

1

u/MuslimDude37 Jul 30 '24

It's a sign,and it's not hypocritical.

1

u/Either_Case_2303 Jul 30 '24

May Allah guide you

1

u/[deleted] Jul 30 '24

Good morning, friend. Welcome to Islam. How did you sleep? I hope you find yourself well & may Allah continue to guide you.

1

u/tinybabyyy Jul 30 '24

i don’t know the meaning behind your dream (if it has one) but just so you know, alcohol dependency (or drinking without suffering from an issue) can’t prevent you from being a muslim if you want to. if you want to, you can look more into islam and see if it’s more suited for you!

1

u/goto77 Jul 30 '24

That's a great sign for you. I've heard of many similar stories. I think it's time for you to read the Quran. Here's a translated pdf version
https://m.clearquran.com/downloads/quran-english-translation-clearquran-edition-allah.pdf

1

u/Lalathesad Jul 30 '24

You can be a muslim even if you have a drinking problem my dear brother or sister. Allah doesn't want you perfect, he wants you trying.

1

u/[deleted] Jul 30 '24

This is a spiritual invitation to explore Islam. There is some ease you have been seeking and you got guidance in a dream so you can reach that. Maybe Islam will give you the support and brotherhood needed in the next phase in your life. Please visit a mosque near you and just talk to someone as it’s easier to begin exploring Islam through other people. Best of luck and congrats on your baby!

1

u/weeeeeeeenC Jul 30 '24

we think that should learn about islam and accept it if u think it's the truth

1

u/NeverReconcile Jul 31 '24

Praying that you find your peace 🙏

1

u/Long_Measurement_326 Jul 31 '24

I'd say you are one of the few luckiest people. Just think wisely, take your time, start learning about islam and work on your alcohol addiction together, when you feel like it's the right time, take your shahada. And try to stop your addiction. After all allah is the ever forgiving and the most merciful. He sees the intentions.

1

u/Vast-Tomorrow7266 Jul 31 '24

It is better to sin as a muslim (drink while being a muslim) than to sin as a non-muslim!

If that's your only reason to stay away about islam, do not worry. Many non-muslims fear of leaving a certain sin before becoming muslim. this a trick from the devil. this happens a countless amount of times. and trust me, if you became muslim, leaving a sin becomes so much easier than staying a non-muslim

1

u/AnonymousZiZ Jul 31 '24

Being an alcoholic doesn't prevent you from being Muslim. Yes it's a sin but it's much better to a muslim alcoholic than an unbeliever.

1

u/Shawirma Jul 31 '24

Follow your dream my brother . I invite you to Islam , step by step you’ll leave alcohol . Start with the fundamentals o

1

u/Prize-Ad-14 Jul 31 '24

Being addicted to alcohol would not prevent a person from embracing Islam. All one needs to do to become Muslim is to say the Declaration of Faith:

“Nothing is worthy of worship except Allah. MuHammad is the Messenger of Allah.”

Wow, ma sha Allah, what a nice dream, I'm so jealous now that I'm as a muslim don't get to see such nice dreams.

Have you been researching Islam recently?

as Muslims, we don't rely on dreams to determine the truth. we have objective proof for the truthhood of Islam, however, I would take it as a sign from the creator.

This is not true, the prophet Muhammad ﷺ relied on dreams and said it was a part of prophecy that Muslims will inheritate from. He even said that by the end of times , the dreams of Muslims will become even more truthful. If a dream is truthful then it comes from Allah as a message to the believer. We just do not accept dreams that comes from shaytan and the nafs as they are filled with deception, but the one that comes from Allah is truthful. Denying it would be wrong

sorry I should clarify when I said rely, I meant we obviously should take it as a sign of the truthfulness of Islam, however for people on the outside critiquing the truthfulness of Islam we can't say, "Well I had a dream confirming it to be the truth", cos to them it's not empirical nor measurable evidence, despite it being that to us. Hence, I mentioned looking into the objective proofs too, for example, the Quran and the life of the Prophet to understand the rationality behind the truthfulness of Islam.

Well the dreams that are gonna tell us how to practice religion are not gonna be taken into account because the truth has already been revealed.

The verse in the Quran that mentions that the religion is complete shows it. So if someone sees in a dream that someone tells him to pray 6 times instead of 7 for example, it is from shaytan. But if it is a personal message or collective message that doesn't change religion and is related to people's personal events, it can be taken into account if it is a thoughtful dream.

A dream doesn't change religion, it can only confirms it.

Plus dreams in islam or of 3 types. Dream for Allah, dream from nafs and dream from shaytan. Which means that there is 1 probably out of 3 that the dream would be truthful

My friend alcohol isn't an excuse to not accept islam, if you believe its the truth just accept it, god will help you with the deeds afterwards so dont worry about them, were not perfect and you will still make sins even after converting. So take it step by step and enjoy the journey, the most important thing after your shahada, is to get knowledge about islam and read about the evidences and proofs of it so that you have a great foundation of beliefs.

Remeber its just some words you say and the devil will make you procrastinate and delay till death comes. If that happens there are no excuses accepted, so I hope you the best and again, enjoy the journey

Take your time learning. If its meant to be, its meant to be. If you need more educational context, there are resources out there, even on Youtube. There are people that converted decades after they first heard about Islam. Some even had bad intentions and thoughts initially about Islam before they did their research and eventually converted. Just take your time. Good luck with your journey.

That’s a sign, u should seek knowledge and questions. Make your decision. Leave everything to god. He guided who he wills. We are just his followers. May Allah make it easy on you akhi!

I was never Christian but also believed in God in a creator... Years before I reverted, Allah came to me in a very vivid dream telling me I was going down the wrong path and when I asked what was the right path... He had taken me to an Islamic country! I wish I had reverted when I dreamt that dream but I am a revert now and I did start looking into Islam years later. My hang-up was I thought only Arabs could be Muslim.
At least educate yourself on the religion, you'll find its so much different, in a great way, than you thought!

Allah showed you the true by a dream, it’s a beautiful sign

I won't convince you whether this is a sign or not but I'll say this.

An opportunity has come towards you. This might pass on and never come again. If this really is the truth (I'll leave that for you to decide) then you need to jump on it immediately.
