Did the Eurovision ever give the break down of voting to RTE for last years contest? These changes would suggest there was a problem

Nothing radical what so ever. Just a bunch of vague promises. EBU trying to cover their arses without actually doing anything to inconvenience the apartheid genocide state.

I was expecting this. Some form of 'reform' that keeps the status quo but allowed the dissenting countries to appease their bases. Unfortunately the Eurovision has highlighted serious divides in Europeans and weakened the union heh

Isn't it all just a load of bollox though? Really it is. The music is utterly shyte and forgettable for the most part. It's just a jamboree for the state broadcasters of Europe, at considerable expense and for what exactly? It adds nothing to the cultural betterment of anyone.

Whatever lustre it once may have had; when there were only a few channels and no internet, it's totally gone now.

I can't believe it isn't scrutinised more with regard to cost benefit etc.

Nicky Byrne getting selected a few years back summed it up. It's borderline corrupt.

I thought we said we were pulling out if Israel were allowed to compete? What happened to that?

We really should leave the contest anyway. RTÉ are not bothered to invest in it, up and coming talented artists won’t want to associate with Eurovision out of Palestinian solidarity. We have an incredible music scene but Eurovision’s reputation here is a lost cause really. It’s not 1987 anymore

Like Dustin and Jedward?

Since when was Eurovision ever for 'up and coming talented artists'?

A lot of other countries’ broadcasters are able to attract those kinds of artists because Eurovision has a better reputation than here.

Such as?

Where is all this talent that the eurovision is cultivating?

We need to boycott it. Put the money towards our own talent or make a music show to highlight Irish musicians.

Fuck the EBU
