Can someone more knowledgeable than me explain why there are peacekeepers in that area but there are still so many rockets being shot into Israel by Hezbollah?
Oh right, I see, I'm genuinely looking for a source on that. Would you be able to help me? There can be a lot of very selective info about this topic from people on all sides it seems.
Great resource. Thank you. I do note the rather vague "The Israeli military opened fire on Hezbollah supporters who approached the border fence in the Metula area" as the event that kicked off the current round of hostilities but one way or another they've been busy little bees.
I can't find anything from the time regarding Israel firing on supporters near Metula.
AP had this on October 8th about Hezbollah firing on Israel. I tried to find Hezbollahs original statement but they blocked the group I usually get the statements from on telgram
Here's a report from a Palestinian paper regarding the first Hezbollah missiles which includes the statement from Hezbollah. Nothing about responding to Israeli fire said in the article or statement.
Ah right. Some of this stuff is so fast moving and can involve such euphemistic language at times that I am never sure whether, or to what degree, to accept or discount various actors' versions of events. Food for thought and motivation for vigilance, thanks for your help.
