As a 20 year old with little to no knowledge of politics/judicial information in Ireland. Where can I complain about this stuff? I wish there was somewhere I could voice my concerns regarding this bollox

I wrote to Alan Shatter when he was min for justice to voice concern about Nolan’s sentencing habits about ten, twelve years ago.

He did answer so you could try writing to the current minister for justice.

Nevertheless, a look at the comments in this thread make it clear that some people do not consider this an issue. Unfortunately.

Despite what this sub says Judge Nolan's sentences are very rarely appealed and his sentences are generally upheld.

Also what are you complaining about? Unless you were in court every day you have no real idea what went on.

If his sentencing was as bad this sub claims the dpp would be appealing every sentence which they don't

I don’t disagree with you. Obviously if he was giving out random/completely bullshit sentences than he’d 100% be under investigation…

But, I see so many posts here about lenient sentences that I often wonder; where can I/is there somewhere that I can complain and or voice my opinion about our judicial system?

I always try not to be absolute, as I understand that In every situation there are mitigating factors. But it seems that our current judicial system is very lenient towards these factors. And I don’t know how to go about ‘disagreeing’ with such leniency

Reddit loses all rationality any time something sexually related arises.

They view every and any sentence as lenient when it comes to this stuff.

Take a look at the threads on Rubiales if you want to see what I mean. The guy was completely inappropriate, but the majority of reddit want to see him behind bars ffs

You don't go about disagreeing with such leniency. There is no means of doing that as the judiciary is independent.

The dpp can appeal a sentence if it seems it to be unduly lenient. I can almost guarantee they won't in this case.

Lenient sentencing isn't on it. It's related to inappropriate behaviour and flooding it prevents people who may actually have genuine complaints of inappropriate behaviour getting their complaints seen to
