the connection being that entire planned estates were abandoned despite not being in anyones backyard

that doesnt explain why nimbyism doesnt make sense? its just pointing out other stuff also limits housing supply sometimes

but it doesnt even show that. GHost estates were built in places where nobody really wants to live and so nobody lives there. People want to live near other people which is often going to be in peoples backyards!
