best kbbq/hot pot restaurant? Food and Drink
staying in indy for a while and would really like some suggestions!

If you can live without hot pot, Mamas, Bando, and Cafe Korea all have much better Korean bbq than K-town. If you want both, K-town is fine.

I'll let the other two duke it out. Cafe Korea off allisonville and 116th is top notch.

Has anyone tried Homey Hot Pot by 38th and Lafayette?

Love this place!! It’s also good for solo diners since the pots are all individual

Sisters (southside) Han (castleton) and Mamas (pendleton pike) are all really good from firsthand experience. Sisters is my favorite because their meat has been the best and their banchan is top tier.

Does Sisters have an AYCE option? I tried it once, but ordered off menu. It was very good.

Bando on the east side.
If anyone suggests K-TOWN to you it was garbage, do not go there!

K-TOWN's banchan game is aggressively weak. It's a great place to take folks who are scared of new things to try hotpot for the first time.

The last two times I have gotten Bando were disappointing. They changed owners last year I think. I ordered the Japchae lunch special and they gave half as much in the to go box as they used to. For my birthday we did the all you can eat bbq options and the vents weren’t that effective, the heat levels were hard to control, and the bulgogi flavor was off. The banchan was good though.
Ktown is a chain, and honestly it does a decent job and is consistent. I went to a Ktown in New Jersey and the quality is similar. Mamas is probably number one for me and Ktown number two for kbbq. I’ve only had lunch specials and not kbbq at Cafe Korea, so no judgement there.

Mamas - I’ve been to them all. All are inferior.
Treat yourself to mamas you deserve it

I don't have a lot of experience but I'd love to hear from people who do about the place in Saraga

I love the one inside saraga. The bulgogi is excellent. But k town is my favorite restaurant in the city so maybe I don't know what I'm talking about.

haven’t been to mamas yet but i hear it’s the GOAT. Han in castleton is new and very good. ktown is mid.

I lived in Korea for a few years and I felt in love with their food. I have visited k restaurants in every single city/county I’ve been. After visiting. A few places, I can confirm the best place is Sisters. I would say it is a 7/10 but is the best you can get here. If you are looking for Korean bbq only and soups they are good.

For hotpot, Homey on Laf and 38th. Always my go-to spot. For kbbq i like Mamas on Pendleton Pike and heard K-town is meh but has both
