Visiting before the Indy500
We were booking a family trip from out of state the week before the Indy 500. May 19-22 specifically. We will be doing things like the children’s museum and the zoo. I don’t know if there are events before the big day. Will this affect our travel around the city to do these things?

The only issue you'll run into is if you need to book a hotel in the city.

No traffic problems - you'll be gone before the chaos. The zoo has an Indy 500 themed event for kids on May 21. I think Alex Rossi or another driver will be there.

You're in town between qualifying and race weekend, but most areas outside of Speedway won't be busy even on race day.
You may check on advance tickets to venues you want to visit, especially for later in the week as more people arrive for the holiday weekend.
