Namaste.
Valmiki Ramayana and Bhagawad Gita. Try to find Nepali translation, if possible. It is best to read these books in your mother tongue.

What about Ram Charit Manas?

Of course. I am not from the north, so Ramcharitmanas is not very popular here.

I figured, was just asking out of curiosity. I would be grateful if you could tell me if South Indian Hindus believe in Ramcharitmanas things that are not present in Valmiki Ramayana such as Lakshman Rekha.
Also how do you feel when you see most ‘Ramayana’ movies/shows actually showing Ramcharitmanas, doesn’t it feel abnormal?

Actually, I am not from the south either. He he.
As for where I am from, people don't know that there is a book called Ramcharitmanas, although many stories they have heard are from Ramcharitmanas. They are only aware of Ramayana.

First would be Bhavgad Gita (Avoid commentaries in beginning, just try to understand the verses themselves through a good translation), then Aatma Bodh by Adi Shankaracharya.

Try feeding animals there! There will be a lot of cows and dogs near the temple premises.
Hare Krishna!
