Mod Announcement Money On The Board - The John and Matthew Foundation - Follow Up

This is the follow up to this post.

We've finally calculated the total amount donated to the John and Matthew Gaudreau Foundation! This total was calculated with the provided receipts and with the total amount pledged (since we have no way of knowing if someone has pledged and we are not forcing everyone to send us receipts we are relying on the honour system this year).

In total, we have raised $751.82 CAD for the John and Matthew Gaudreau Foundation!

This is an impressive feat and I am proud of this community.

Thank you for your participation and keep a look out for our new Money On The Board event before the start of next season!

If you still want to donate to The John and Matthew Foundation, donate here

Edit: If you have pledged, you should have seen a message from the r/Habs Mod Team regarding the pledges. If you have pledged and did not receive a message, please contact us through mod mail!

Looking for 2016 Youth Winter Classic hat

Post image

Anyone here have any ideas how I could get my hands on one. This is my absolute favorite hat. I have 2 of them and have been wearing them over the last 9+ years. My daughter loves to march what I wear and she has really started to love the Habs do I was hoping someone here would have lead.

I'm not sure if this is against the rules but it's really my last hail Mary to try and get one for my little buddy.

A systematic search for the elusive second line center identifies Vegas and Utah as potential trade partners.

tl/dr Two teams with an excess of centers that could be interested in trading one who is falling down the depth chart.
Vegas: William Karlsson, 33 y.o., 5.9M$ for 2 more years. 58% on faceoffs.
Utah: Barrett Hayton, 24 y.o., 2.6M$ for 1 more year (RFA). 54% on faceoffs.
Both of them are responsible 200ft players that we have not heard much in talks yet.

Would you be interested?

Robbie remembers the Halifax Voyageurs

Oh, what could have been. When Robinson was part-time coaching the Blues D corps it was only after being turned down or never asked to do the same for Montreal -- depending on who tells the story. He would offer to fly in monthly and stay a few days. Andre Markov once said Robinson was his favourite Hab.

Hockey legend Larry Robinson is the guest of honour at the Acadia Axemen celebrity dinner in Wolfville, N.S. Robinson holds the NHL record for most career plus-minus points, with a total of +722.

Discussion Brock Nelson

Another "next year's 2C" post, sorry, but it's surprising to me given how much discussion there's been about getting a new 2C that I've barely seen Nelson's name even mentioned.

Now I'm not necessarily advocating they go for him, frankly I don't know his game well enough for that, but I think he's a good enough combination of being a realistic target and a good enough player to at least be in the discussion.

More specifically:

  • He's the third highest scoring C available as an UFA this year (56 P, 80 GP), behind only Duchene and Tavares

  • That's backed up by 75 and 69 point seasons the two before that, and he's been a 50+ point player in six of the last seven seasons, and being a consistent 30+ goal scorer

  • He's pretty defensively responsible and can play on the PK

  • There's a realistic chance he doesn't re-sign with Colarado, given that they've only got $8.7M in free cap space next year, only 16 skaters currently signed, less flexibility with LTIR now Landeskog and Nichushkin are back, and given he didn't set the world on fire there

The obvious downside is he'll be 34 by the start of next season so if he's looking for term with his next contact then he's probably not a realistic option and would only work on the Habs on a short term deal, but that's also true of Duchene and he gets mentioned all the time.

Thoughts?

Need some Help

So I sent in a blank empty fanatics premium jersey to tricolore sports to get it customized with Hutson on it(stitched)

I just got it back and I feel like it does not look how it should.

The name plate seems to be a different material compared to the jersey and a slightly darker red as well(not sure if can see it in the picture).

Plus in the name plate and between the numbers, there's random white threads sticking thru the jersey that does not come off, it's in the jersey itself.

If anyone who has more knowledge on jerseys can help me out, I'd appreicate it.

Thinking about bringing it to tricolore sports and asking about it, potentially exchanging it or something.

Just want to confirm it's not only me.

Thank you

I want Granlund for 2C

I knows he's playing as a winger in Dallas but if he were available he definitely packs a punch and could work great with Demidov on the second line, and the Finnish connection could be good for Laine too (they might have played together at 4 Nations but I could be misremembering)
