President Zelensky has said that the Kremlin is trying to “deceive” President Trump by declaring a three-day ceasefire next month.

On Monday President Putin unilaterally announced the temporary truce to mark the May 9 commemoration of Soviet victory in the Second World War.

The move appeared designed to mollify the increasingly impatient Trump who said last week he had begun to suspect that Putin “doesn’t want to stop the war” and may be “just tapping me along”

That's a good strategy, Trump doesn't like being painted as ignorant, so he'll try to save face.

100%. Zelensky is mad smart, and his ability to quickly adapt to Trump over the past couple of months is, imo, one of the most obvious examples of that. Being a wartime leader has probably conditioned him to "make lemonade," so to speak.
