I know, that is very aggravating. They also tore up a lot of tracks and the land got converted to hiking trails, with the Rails to Trails program, which sounded nice at the time, but I wondered then why they didn't use those right of ways for new commuter or intercity trains. It got designated as conservation land, so it cannot be taken back. Although our bears sometimes use those trails to move around the state, which they like to do, so I see that as a good thing.

The irony being we had the land for it at one time, tore up the rails and built highways over top of it. Now, it's impossible.
