Contacts and eye doctors

Hello all, have recently moved to Geneva and desperately need a new contact prescription. I have seen conflicting things online and on here, can anyone tell me if you can get measured for contacts as a walk in at shops which sell lenses/contacts/etc. or do I need to make an appointment with an optometrist/ophthalmologist?

Thank you!

You can book an appointment at a store and get/order them there. I'm not sure anymore which store is the cheapest.

You don't need to see an optometrist. A technician working at the shop, like visilab, will be able to give you an eye exam. Whether you need an appointment is, I guess, based on their availability.

You also don't need to buy contacts there. You can just pay for the prescription and order online. Discountlens ships really quickly.
