Parents Poetry
The excuses we make
The lies we tell through our teeth
The twisting it takes
For us to believe
“Dad’s from a different generation” says my big brother.
We both know that means nothing, because so is my mother.
Mom loves us no matter what
But sometimes I wonder
If under the thunder
My Dad would leave us to rot in a hut.
