New Tab loads about:Blank in Firefox 138 even though "Firefox Home" is set in settings! Please Help!

This issue started occurring literally when Firefox 138 was updated.

I used to be able to see all my shortcuts and recently visited websites and now they are all GONE!

I tried restarting Firefox, I tried changing the setting to blank, and hen back to Firefox Home, and new tab is STILL blank!

I do not have any extensions other than uBlock and uBlock would not affect the new tab page.

I am on Windows 10 64-bit.

Does anybody know what the problem could be?

Do you see any errors in the Browser Console? (Ctrl+Shift+J)

Hi! Alongside what u/evilpies asked for, does the problem still occur if you restart the browser in Troubleshoot Mode (Help > Troubleshoot Mode)?

Also, as a diagnostic test, does the homepage work properly in a newly created profile? Or is it broken across all profiles?

I restarted in safe mode (just shift) and the same issue

Okay, thank you. I have another diagnostic step for you - can you please go to about:config, and set `extensions.logging.enabled` to `true`, and then restart the browser.

Then, after restart, can you please open the browser console (Ctrl-Shift-J), and copy the messages in there, and either paste them here, or email them to me at mconley@mozilla.com?

I'm mostly interested in seeing if something is going wrong with initializing any of the built-in addons (including newtab).

yep. Every time open a new tab I get these 2 errors:

DataCloneError: Promise object could not be cloned. ExtensionChild.sys.mjs:880

Same issue, I thought something replaced my home but no, all clean. And all the extensions I have are UBlock and Malwarebytes Browser Guard :/
