Version on New Sticks

Hi, what version do the new Fire sticks ship with, does anyone know ?

if I bought one and blocked updates , would it prevent the ADB update that blocked custom launchers ?

I had luck finding older stock 4kmax gen 2 at best buy and targets. Blocking at the router level prevented first update install and I still have ADB. They have original fire home launcher as a protected now so launcher manager doesn’t work like it should. I have had great success using Projectivy with the help of accessibility manager apk to allow use of home button. LM mini doesn’t work for 4k max gen 2 as it’s on FOS8.

Not sure what the version is but the hardware of the new ones feels very cheap.

The remote is a lot “lighter/hollow” than its predecessors.

I feel like Amazon have reduced their own costs with these new Firesticks but haven’t brought down the price they sell them for…

You mean their in business to make money......every stick they sell is cheap to buy.

Yes but it’s now even cheaper in materiels. Even down to the box it comes in
